It'd make voting for them a hell of a lot easier. Might even see the Tories cooperate with them, too.
Hm, I wonder if the National Front can actually moderate themselves out, or if they might remain a fringe vote not unlike the Communists.
And dang, difficult choices to be made. Bump Labour into a tie with the Tories, bump the National Front above 15%...
This is what I would hope for, too.Might even see the Tories cooperate with them, too.
Oh no, the Broad Party faction is leading over the Yellow one. What is happening?

((You do always have to come prancing in with REAL FACTS, don't you? Do you know how hard it is to deceive people into voting for these godforsaken idiots like this?))Interestingly, the BNP was born out of an internal conflict with the National Front between those who wanted to moderate (and formed the BNP) and hardliners. Definitely a possible factional conflict - but not for a while yet.

Ah, a shame. Was hoping to strive to eliminate the fringe votes, which create these hung parliaments. Oh well, I suppose etranger01 makes a valid point. Since Labour needs all the votes it can get, while the National Front needs only one to rise above 15% for a while, I think I've made up my mind. But not for a while yet.
((Jesus Christ, Tommy.Labour shall retain its member for Southshields. My apologies to Contravarius!
((Jesus Christ, Tommy.

To paraphrase the words of a party activist at the 1986 Eastbourne Liberal Party conference speaking in regards to the recently held membership vote in favour of a conference resolution supporting unilateral nuclear disarmament: "[expletive pertaining to sexual intercourse] Antonine"![]()

I'm not sure if Tommy takes into account where members have defected from. I'm hoping, much as I have for the Liberals now, that an electoral defeat will see a speedier reformation of the party. It worked well for the other parties in this IAAR in the past.Well if the NF get a flow from the moderate parties, like Labour and Liberal, they might understand they should perhaps tone down a little but to gain appeal to the working class and liberal elite. So you should vote for them if you want to manipultate them![]()
You manage to look into the future?![]()

Yes, but I only do it to post pithy unwieldy comments about Britain's other conservative party.![]()
Well I still don't get it![]()
Yet, as I've argued before, the Liberals (their leadership, at least) remain fairly isolationist with their dogged insistence upon having things their way and only their way, otherwise they won't play nice with the other parties.
Basically the Liberal voters are making a protest against Antonine's overbearing influence by voting for the Orangists. In other words, I believe some people are voting for Jenkins to spite Antonine and his policies.
Under duress of having no other workable government. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if the spirit of Grimond made the Liberals hold Parliament hostage and coerce said parties into accepting the EEC or PR against their will.
