But but, how could you then be a politician in 45? :p

Perhaps there are two Tanzhangs - one the master and the other the apprentice. But which has Antonine slain? The master or the apprentice?
Well, since I'm here, I'd say the master, as I am the apprentice  (or, at least, our voting patterns have been eerily similar for it to potentially be the case)
Somberg accuses us of advocating ideas that he claims are out of fashion. I say politicians aren't supposed to adopt popular platforms, but platforms they believe in. I was criticizing this:

If we drop the issues that aren't entirely popular, we are headed straight towards populism. I think that remaining true to one's ideals is a quality in politics.
It's one thing to advocate for potentially unpopular ideals, it's another to attempt to strongarm said ideals into law by refusing to cooperate with any other party that will not enact said ideals.

Following the basic principles of praxeology equals being pigheaded? :p

Where do the thieves come from? How long do you think the average career of a thief in a libertarian well-armed society would last? ;)

Why does he have a bank loan? Why would the bank have given a loan to him?

Companies that commit financial fraud will go bankrupt, unless state somehow protects them like in our current world.
False advertising will result in people starting to hate the said company, which results in sales dropping. Fool me once, but fool me twice...
Sensationalized news were a Marxist invention. ;)
Wage deflation is not bad if there is overall deflation. Deflation is not a crime against mankind. :) Do you know the greatest economic growth has happened many times during times of deflation?

Laws exist to decrease freedom. One can only increase freedom of the individual by decreasing laws. Building a golden cage does not equal freedom in any way!

In only a state where the state protects the rights of the criminals does crime exist. In libertarian utopia, one crime, one shot. One criminal less.
I'm still against all forms of violence, but the individual can very well defend himself, the state is not a requirement for the continuation of a civilization.

Yes.

Anywhere, everywhere. The bored, the starving, the greedy, the desperate, the evil, the slimy. All different personas of humanity, all willing to steal from you. Yes, I do. This society has no concept of safety other than what others tell them, I would think it'd be easier to rob someone, even if the end result is more net deaths on both side of the equation. Why work when it is easier and just as risky to rob someone?

Because he is poor. Having a steady job means that one bank is willing to loan him money in order to reap in the interest payments. The best way to make money is off the back of the working poor, paying down cents of the actual debt to hundreds on the interest. What's to stop the bank from doing this, from every bank from doing this?

Unless they don't. Who will know who commits fraud? Who cares, since every bank and every company can do it with no punishment?

Unless it doesn't. What if there were no laws on advertising? Everyone can lie, there is no benefit to telling the truth and more lying to the customer.

Tell that to Fox, deemed entertainment. Why have news when you can have rating? The more watchers is what's more important, why tell the news when you can sell a story to customers?

No, just wage deflation. Why should companies lower the price of there product and decrease their profit margins? Sure, one company can try to undercut the competition but what stops the other companies from launching military reprisals against the company using PMCs and either destroy it or force it to raise it's prices?

Sure, I now have the freedom to kill you and take your stuff. Congratulations, you are dead. Since no one was around and you weren't paying attention, it will never be found out until the banks come to collect following missed payments.

So criminals are shot no matter the punishment? Why bother with the small stuff? Get together and rob everything from the banks, kill your neighbour you don't like, burn down a neighbouring factory that just fired you. You are going to die anyways, fuck it. Get high everyday living on the streets, wondering when your time will come. Watch the Communists grow, the fascists grow. Watch as your pretty dystopia is ripped apart by class warfare and anarchy reigns.

Congratulations, you just created a Marxian nightmare of modern proportions.

Basically, I want to be old enough to pass as a politician in the 60s-70s and yet young enough to fully enjoy the New Romantics when they become a thing in the early 80s. One could hardly imagine someone of say, Jenkins or Powell's age with awesome hair and man-makeup dancing in some fancy club or discotheque. :p

It's one thing to advocate for potentially unpopular ideals, it's another to attempt to strongarm said ideals into law by refusing to cooperate with any other party that will not enact said ideals.

That's why I voted for the moderate BP faction ;)

The equilibrium between power of the larger party and concessions to the smaller ones is hard to find, and I don't think the current Liberal leadership is doing it well. If we're a junior partner, we can't entirely push our ideas, it's democracy after all, not some minority parties' dictatorship.

Temper, temper, my dear. I never understand why you hold such vehemence for those you allege to be full socialists, when many are merely advocates of a mixed economy.

Kudos to you, then. I do still worry that a vote for the faction will strengthen the leadership, and embolden its dictatorial tendencies.

I dunno, you and Foresti actually have a good argument for having two separate characters, in your case: One, the crazy Scotch-speaking Independence nut complete with kilt and claymore and two, the Scot Nat equivalent of Ted Heath.

Sexist! :p

why not? Ageist!

I dunno, you and Foresti actually have a good argument for having two separate characters, in your case: One, the crazy Scotch-speaking Independence nut complete with kilt and claymore and two, the Scot Nat equivalent of Ted Heath.

Ah dinna ken wha' yur jabber'n 'bout laddie. Ah ken wha' Ah ken 'n nut'n can change 'at.

Also, who is Ted Heath, I googled him and was unimpressed.
