The Liberals want LVT, read their program again.

If we had a referendum on immigration, people would vote according to their preferences. Democracy sucks, especially if you are not part of the majority.
But since we cannot achieve a benevolent monarchy/dictatorship, it is a relatively form of governing.

Free trade and immigration stand to benefit the overall welfare of everyone, but there will be special groups who see their short term benefit decrease, and thus have a rational reason to fear increased competition. If the population were enlightened enough, we would have no fools supporting restriction of free trade and free movement.

On a vote for steel industries, those who work for the industries would vote to get more subsidies, whilst those who do not work for the steel industries would not want to subsidize other people with their own money.

And I believe is justified with them wanting to decrease income taxes. But it make voting for Liberals a little more iffy.

I'm confused here. You support the free market but you argue for a large military to provide more employment? In that case why not have the state employ everyone so that no one won't have a job?

We have a big enough armed forces and the fact is that modern equipment costs more per unit than old equipment - a modern frigate costs hundreds of times more than a 17th century frigate but is also hundreds of times more potent militarily.

Make no mistake, even if we were to halve the size of our military we could still beat the UAR in a shooting war. We do not need a massive military, we just need a modern, mobile and adaptable military which is capable of reacting swiftly when our foreign policy requires it.

That being said, I'd like it if Tommy could give us some stats on the state of Britain's military so we can have some idea of what size we're talking about here.

It can employ more through the shipwrights, steel industries, airplane industries and those who are selling equicment and arms to the military have to employ more in order to produce more.

Yes, I agree on that we need a mobile and modern military. And the military is also a great way for youth to get discipline and work experience.

Well that are good points. But I preffer a relativley large military, so we will be able to be vigilant, and protect Europe/UK in case of a soviet invasion - to hold thek off until USA arrive with reinforcements. And I believe that the armed forces are more detterent that nuclear weapons.

Neo-Fascist groups tend to be torn been 'traditional racists' who are still into anti-antisemitism etc (all very 1930s) and more 'modern racists' who don't have any strong opinions on Jews and tend to be very pro-Israel. At this stage the traditional racists would still be much bigger, but its more a personal opinion than a plank of policy at this stage and will become ever less important as we go forward.

I already voted for the Yellow faction. I might agree with the principle of a broad party but the policy of the broad party faction is very uninspired.

I agree with the Broad party being uninspiring. They are basically the Liberal party during last election. So I'll guess I'll cast my vote for the Liberals (Y). Feels good being back. For liberty and social justice!

With those votes we now have a total of 8 votes cast which would give the Liberals 449 MPs, the Tories 112 MPs and giving Labour and the CPGB 28 MPs each with the National Front getting none.

More seriously, since we currently have four Liberal votes to one Labour one, it looks like the Liberals might be overtaking Labour as the main opposition to the Tories.
