I really want to eventually see Maggie in charge.

It does reflect the voters, have a look at the election update conclusion. In Monmoth, Donald Anderson got more votes than any other candidate and won. In East Fife, more voters wanted Sid French to be MP than any other candidate and Sid French won. Can't get more democratic than that!![]()
It isn't exaxtly democratic when the party with the most votes are the second least represented in the parliament (which is meant to reflect the people)
Dude, he's Polish. She's like a goddess over there.![]()
Is she? I've never noticed that. I just have great respect for her, and it has nothing to do with me being Polish.
Parliament isn't meant to represent the people though, that's what the MPs are for. Parliament is where they meet.![]()
Sorry, I'm a Hacker-Backer.![]()
So why do we vote then? Can't we just let the Queen and the House of Lords appoint the MP's then? Oh, yeah, because the MP's are supposed to represent the population. Thus when the Labour get 20% of the votes, but 30% of the seats, and the Conservatives get 30% of the votes, but 20% lf the seats it doesn't exactly represent the population well. But as I've said ai know it is a lost case. And that it was ironically the Tories who were the catalyst in putting it down, and that it have given more power to the parties that supported its implementation.

Actually, I've never found time to watch Yes, Minister. I should do so.
You had a referendum, you lost. Deal with it, the people don't care.![]()
And they do that. Like I said look at the results, you won't find a single MP getting elected that didn't have the most votes.
Why do you think I have said "it's a lost case" and "we've been over this" and "I see no point in arguing it" then? Because I know the refferendum was put down, but I just made a comment on how ironic or undemocratic this election turned out to be. That you can't argue against.

So stop mentioning it then.![]()
Might have to switch to Tories, if the LibLab alliance stays intact.
In my struggle against socialism, do I need to embrace conservatism...![]()
Liberals unsatisfied with Antonine's "loony left-wing" leadership defect to the Tories. More news at 11.
