Considering how important it was and for how great a period of time, I'd say that the breakdown of a feudalism was, in fact, one if the biggest anti-climaxes the world has ever seen.
Furthermore, I wholeheartedly condemn apartheid.
And pray tell, why do these rebels exist? Because there is something to rebel against, of course! They are not anarchists, remove the oppressive system and you'll remove the terrorists who are fighting to overthrow it.
Mark my words: This "opressive" system is something they'll all think back on when they miss order, stability and humane living conditions, when their lives and homeland are being destroyed by these same communist terrorists who have by then achieved power.

Is the Liberal-Labour Pact here to stay? The two parties joined forces rather reluctantly...
I think that depends on how the election turns out. If the Lib-Labs win and manage to govern quite comfortably, then I dare say so. If the free-marketeers within the Liberal Party begin to create conflict with the democratic socialists within the Labour Party, then probably not, no.

Because of a strange affection I have for the Labour Party, I actually hope that the ties don't become too formal – although I would be happy to see a renewal of the pact to ensure Mr. Powell is kept out of Number 10.

At this point in time, I might add – so the Attlee/Gaitskellite Labour rather than things to come.
I'm also not too fond of the alternative – namely having the CPGB become the main voice of the mid-to-far-left.
Though I've flirted with the idea of voting Stalinist to return the favour of 1949, where my dear Mister Attlee was sabotaged, I suppose giving more power to revolutionaries and radicals is a poor idea. Not to mention, it'd be a terrible, petty endeavor. Thus, I shall cast my vote for Mister Gaitskell and Labour, hoping that he might live up to Mister Attlee's legacy... despite likely never having a good chance at the post to do so.

Having seen the numbers and satisfying myself that it won't prevent the inevitable change of government ((and so I don't forget to do it over the weekend)), I regretfully vote for the Conservatives to try to keep them above the 35% waterline although I won't shed a tear if Powell is dumped for being a right pillock who lost us the election and we get a One Nationist back in charge for the next set to.
For what it's worth, your vote apparently garnered the Tories a good seven seats. Still beneath the 35% mark, sitting painfully at 33.3%
