Scoring above 45% pretty much gauruntees a majority, with the Tories starting slowly the Lib-Lab coalition looks to be in a commanding position early on. We could be looking at a big majority if they manage to stay above 45% (this would involve the combined vote of the two parties rising on their 1963 result).

The Communists have started well, as we've come to expect from recent elections, but their vote is intriguingly split right down the line between Euros and Stalinists. Will be interesting to see if one faction is able to come out on top.

Yes indeed. Think about it, the empire would be released. The hordes of foreign filth will storm Britain. The military would be no more. And Britain could never turn fascist if the left wins. You clearly need to vote Tories to preserve Britain

Actually, I very much believe the exact opposite. Fascism is an ideology of reaction. There has to be a certain event, a certain fear in peoples minds to create the exact requirements needed for this reaction and the Left has provided these requirements time and time again.

I have voted for the Liberals in every election so far but Labour seems to be beckoning me, especially with its recent moderation and opposition further nationalization unless it is necessary. I have also grown tired of the Liberals continued insistence upon devolution and welcome a party that does not advocate such a policy.

After giving it some thought, I think it is time for us social liberals within the Liberal party to consider working together somewhat with the classical liberals within the party.

I do not want Tory privatisation by any means but it does seem to me that there are some nationalised industries which could be moved more efficient and competitive if they moved from being state-owned and run to being employee-run with the state as the majority shareholder. A moderate reform but one which could ultimately have big dividends in the form of greater competitiveness internationally.

Well it is something I can agree upon. Of course I would like most of it to be private. But it is better that way than the way it is today.

Too bad. The Tories are the only ones who want to abolish devolution. Labour party will only be the dog of the Liberal party.
