Can we not go into the discussions over the meaning of the word liberalism etc - I thought this was largely hashed out in the last AAR. There were two schools of opinion - one group saw liberalism as a broad tradition with several different currents of political thought (some of which have elements opposed to each other ie social liberalism and libertarianism) whilst the other group saw it as being a very specific and narrowly defined ideology in the same way that Trotskyism is something more specific than Socialism. Lets put it in the past and let the discussion of the contemporary situation (the mid to late 1940s) flourish.
Hear hear!
