Can we not go into the discussions over the meaning of the word liberalism etc - I thought this was largely hashed out in the last AAR. There were two schools of opinion - one group saw liberalism as a broad tradition with several different currents of political thought (some of which have elements opposed to each other ie social liberalism and libertarianism) whilst the other group saw it as being a very specific and narrowly defined ideology in the same way that Trotskyism is something more specific than Socialism. Lets put it in the past and let the discussion of the contemporary situation (the mid to late 1940s) flourish .

((Simply? No, not really. Sinn Féin might fot your criteria, but none of the nationalist parties have ever been particularly big in Westminster, and both the SNP and Plaid Cymru are negligible at this point. That, and I think Tommy will be handling such groups as he did the regional parties in BaI, so your support may well be moot.

Oh, and Great Britain hasn't existed as a nation since 1801. ))

Yeah, all nationally based parties have always been broadly unionist - although Labour has at times flirted with being pro-decentralisation.

I've read your last 4 or so AARs, but they were paused/finished right before I caught up, so this is my first post on one of them. I also recently realized that you had written another AAR (the megacampaign one) which I read a long time ago and really enjoyed.
