Would it not be easier to just up pop incomes enough for them to afford stuff at the current levels of supply and demand? I like the overall economy at the moment, and it'd be less work.

I thought it was proven that pops were being supplied by a phantom market which took its prices from the WM but had infiniate goods.

Also, I've not noticed prices to be especially high, certainly my lower/middle classes seem able to buy all the vital and most everyday goods while keeping some cash. The rich, however, are constantly broke and cannot even buy all their vital goods.

FFZ, you could always open up the factory efficenty file and multiply the output by 10, then you would have 1.03's fixes and 1.01's crazy money.

You start to investigate the files the \DB and subsequent folders. Even if you ever haven't done any scripting (like HTML or more advanced scripts), or programming, you should be able to figure out how it works in a few hours at most. Do not think you can't do it, that is the wrong way to reason. Always try before you say whether it's something for you or not.

More specifically about your problem where to start: When it comes to what content to actually modify, I would suggest you write down a list about what things in Victoria annoys you the most, and that you can fix by editing the files. Almost all economic, unit, and POP data can be edited to a large extent (not to mention all events and AI files). You then start working through your list and change and test one thing at a time, until you have completed your own modification ;).
