while HotD add the WHM and MAD it does so kinda dirty.
they work but not 100%
they are meshes over existing models imported by hand from MWO; king crab was used for the MAD and i believe the orion used for the WHM.
they do not show up properly or not at all in the mechbay visually so you cannot change camo pattern.
in mission they work but have funkiness when taking damage; the WHM likes to twirl blown off limbs before they hit the ground.
also once a torso is gone you can get model tearing and see thru models and the cammo pattern is hard to see most times.
so ya...a mod was made to get them in game and more or less working.
do you honestly believe HBS would do the same?
what solhama joe is doing with that mod is FRIKKIN AWESOME but it is just a stopgap...something to give us a daily fix on the unseen until they can be done properly by HBS
that means their own models of the right shape and size.
their own animations, etc
that is not something that can be done quickly by a small dev team with an already full workload.
please be patient and understanding.
they are coming.
No but look how fast it was done in less then 2 weeks and in order for HBS to do it its going to take a year and they already hade people working on the models prior coupled with a working marauder. I just dont understand why it would take so long. Couples with the fact I doubt they stoped working on them during the lawsuit incase they won. eitherway would be nice for HBS to lay our concrete plans for what they meant instead of little blurbs that we then all have to dig deep into.
Oh, it was probably more than two months.I can't guarantee it, but there was probably a lot of prelim work started back during beta.ALL work was stopped when the lawsuit came about.
and again...what work that had been done was PRE-ALPHA.
not beta....not even close to gold.
it all has to be redone.
no mesh coverups...proper animations unique to mek.
oh and a little FYI.
Battetech was released on 23 april.
Hangar of the Dispossessed was released on 2 july.
2 weeks? say what?
in your original post that i responded to you said a month...so which is it 2 weeks or a month?
lets try 2 months and a week or thereabouts.
you try to make it sound as if it was easy.
it wasnt.
Solhama Joe worked his arse off post release to get the MAD/WHM working.
it was not something that he just slapped together overnight.
...
All that isn't even taking into account that they have probably internally already outlined their Expansions, what work needs to be done for them, and have started working on those assets. It may simply be that both Flashpoint was, and Urban Warfare is, too far a long to scrap aspects of it to switch gears. It is possible that HBS may wanted to finish those two expansions since they were/are already outlined, content defined, and tasks assigned.
Again this is all guessing on my part, however it seems like a solid guess to me. At least it makes sense to me when I think about it.
...
I look forward to the day when the "soon (TM) to be seen" re-joins the ranks of Flamestalker's Highland Fusiliers.

So glad to hear this finally. The biggest questions that remain on this are:
1. Why is the Marauder so difficult to do, given it was in the alpha?
2. Why has HBS not even attempted to communicate on this until now? It'd have saved everyone a lot of heartache about it.
An alpha model of the Marauder was in the preview build that we saw... what, two years ago? Three?Wait, the Marauder was in the alpha?
Wait, the Marauder was in the alpha?
