The Soviets replaced one of the lost fleets with a new fleet in Berlin; they only have 14 units. The French organized their sixth fleet in Marseilles. The NATO army in Moscow ran out of supplies. The last Yugoslavian army surrendered to NATO.

Representatives of France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal met in Paris to discuss how to insure their mutual safety. Both NATO and the European Economic Community (EEC) had demonstrated their weakness during this conflict.

Mid-February 1970

Mid-February 1970

In the battle of Fourth Belgium, neither NATO or France were able to advance.

France defeated NATO in the battle of Third North Sea; NATO retreated to Norway. The French also occupied Wales.

NATO won the battle of First Sweden, driving the Soviets to the Gulf of Bothnia.

French forces drove off a Soviet offensive in the battle of Fifth Kiel.

In the drawn battle of Fourth Munich, neither French nor Soviet forces advanced into the province.

The Soviets were in such a hurry to move troops towards Scandinavia, they neglected to take control of Moscow.

NATO occupied Bulgaria; the Soviets occupied Greece.

French fleets defeated NATO in the battle of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Why do you keep several armies behind the frontlines?

Because my army in Kiel needs support from Holland and the Ruhr or the Soviets would capture Kiel. As for the army in Burgundy, it kept the NATO North Sea fleet out of Belgium this month.

The Soviets destroyed NATO's fleet in Sweden in the battle of Second Sweden.

Nothing changed in Britain as the French and NATO fought the inconclusive battles of First Liverpool and First Yorkshire.

The French won the battle of Fifth Munich, advancing into the province.

NATO's fleet in the Ionian Sea fleet was destroyed by the French in the battle of First Ionian Sea.

Soviet armies moved into the undefended provinces of Moscow and Bulgaria.

Why haven't you taken Tuscany, Apulia, Trieste or Wien?

I did not take Tuscany or Apulia because they are not supply centers. I did not try for Trieste or Vienna (Wien) because I did not expect the Soviet retreat.

Mid-March 1970

When the Soviets won the battle of Fifth Norway, NATO's fleet retreated to Murmansk.

French forces began to take control of the east coast of Britain and expanded their control in Italy.

Soviet forces left Bulgaria before they gained control of the province.

I admit I overlooked the Soviet retreat and failed to capture Trieste this turn. I also failed to try for Vienna.
