No, the real question is how can this bother anyone? Which part is the bothersome one? That you will be able to continue playing the game until 1819? I still play EUII a lot, and so does most of the people. The graphics in EUII do not seem outdated to me. They are just like counters, it is a strategy game, not a FPS or a so called RTS. It will bother me that they try too look to much like one of those game.
Here, Here on this sentiment. For me a real selling point with CK is the fact that it can be continued into EUII (as far as I know thats still on the table). Not only is that one hell of a great value for the gaming expirence but just adds a lot of dynamics to the game play.
MP comes to mind, personally I am real hopeful to start an MP game with CK and, depending on how things play out continue on into EUII.
On a side note regarding Paradox and graphics, I float through thier corp site from time to time and in thier news section there is an article about thier purchase of a 3d gaming engine.

Thats the full article, so who knows what will happen in 2004 right? Paradox strat game with a 3d battle interface?!?!?!?! Nice potential and who knows what patches for games will be available with this new engine, or mods, or capabilities for CK going into EUII, and maybe just maybe a 3D battle enhancement.
A wish obviously but definitely the possibilities are a positive and something worth hangining around for to see. Im no Engineer but CKII with 3D battles like Medievil Total War that can be brought forward into EUIII?
