I got the windowed mode working and all that a while back, the reason I wanted that was because when I quit EU2 and try to restart I would get an illegal operation. It's like this with every full screen game I play, after I restart I can safley run again with no problems.

So, what I'm getting at... By making EU2 run in a window I expected I would have less problems with it. And, yeah, I do, somewhat. The problem is the videos at the opening, they still run at full screen and if a I have a CTD and I try to run EU2 again my computer crashes, so, I'd like to know if there is a way to turn off the videos at the opening.

Thanks for any assistance.

I run Europa Universalis 2 with the newest 1.8 beta patch.

I seem to recall that renaming a file would do it. Look for a directory named avi or a file named something.avi, and move or rename it.

I renamed all of the files except for the colorscales file (That's for the map, I think, so I didn't touch it.)

And It looks like that it worked. I tried this before but I oonly renamed the .bik files and not the binkplay.exe file.

It worked now, thanks alot. Europa shall be much more enjoyable now.

Well I recall Castellon saying that the movies can be deleted.

in EUII the avi's aren't that important... i miss the EUI-feature... if you surrendered you saw a burning city and if you regularly completed a game you saw happy people. and in the intro there was the text read by a dark voice....... once upon a time in europe
