I look forward to seeing the brigades in the game and I think this would work better with ArnhemKnight's idea of individualized flags though perhaps it could be state by state - we are talking essentially about the question of 'state's rights!' - so New York troops would have the New York flag and Stonewall's VA brigade would have the Virginia flag.

By the way, another idea for attachable brigades - sharpshooters brigade (or is that in already).

Richmond
yet another interesting idea for a brigade. You have any idea for that they should stat wise?

Also I look forward to seeing those sprites Arnhem.

A quick update on how progress is going, I'm still waiting for Stonewalls updated files before I make a new release, but I may have to early as I found some problems with events firing long before they are supposed to (Due to the fact I set a date for them to happen by mistake).

Great Mod!

My only problam is it seems a bit to easy, I was playing as the Union and by the end of 1861 I had Richmond and had driven through all of Texas, overan most of the west and was surrounding the Eastern Armies. By 1862 I was able to annex. Is there a way to give the confederates more steam?

In addition what is the point of having the French on the map? Or the Desert State, the French Seem to have a total of 2 divisions with no factories. What is the desert state?

Anyways thanks for a great mod!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. To adress your concerns:

-Yes the US is WAY overpowered at this time. Hands off games have shown the US annexs the CSA at about the same time you do, 1862. Stonewall is working on rearangeing IC and manpower to be more historic because right now the US is using it's 1940's IC levels so it's too strong.

-The French are still being worked on for later releases. Eventually there will be events for France to invade Mexico, but right now they do nothing. As for the Desert State, you can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Deseret It's not really inportant but I've included it anyway, if just so the US doesn't get anymore territory.

Again it's good to know people are enjoying this mod. Thanks.

A quick update: I PM'ed Stonewall and he said that he should have the updated IC/Manpower/Infastructure files done by tommorow so I will probably release an update tommorow along with some new events I wrote for the South to mobolize (so the US won't win as fast)

That's okay. Will deseret function at all? If you want it too, I could provide ministers, and maybe a brigade name or two. Deseret actually had the second largest army in the continent before the trek to utah, and they stayed very militant and self-dependent, with ambitions as their own state. They were mildly pro-south during the war, refusing to support the north with troops, taxes or any sort of aid, but refusing to let either side disrupt their rail.

I've been to Utah before... they have a monument there dedicated to the Mormon Brigade.

Deseret I think means something along the lines of bee or beehive. In Utah, there are a lot of signs with those things pictured on it.

Oh...
The first Cherokee picture is taken out of a book called "The Fighting Men of the Civil War." It is a picture of a Cherokee-CSA soldier.

EDIT:

Well I'm having some ideas about stuff for the State of Deseret to do now. If Jubal posts some info on them I think I can write some events for them and such. And thats a good pic there Arnhem for the Deseret Propaganda screen. Also I knew I saw that first Cherokee pic somewhere before (although I thought I would have noticed it since I had been looking through that book recently).

Okay..Deseret would have claims on some land, if you mind modeling that in. Not much, but nevada was part of the Utah Territory with a mormon minority population, same northern arizona. They had claims on arizona, a swathe of (southern cali, mostly) california and new mexico, also.

They're leader at this time, was of course, brigham young.

They were a theocracy. In this game, facist, maybe?

They had fanatical morale and dedication. Weapons not so good.

Used scorched earth against the US army..werent afraid to lose anything, and alot of them had come across the ocean and then across a continent to start a new life in the wasteland. Devoted lot, and tightly unified around the church, which is led by the prophet, also the president of deseret, and the quorum of 12 apostles, although I dont know how that would factor in.

The LDS private militia-army was called the Nauvoo Legion. the mormons organized the mormon brigade for purposes of fighting in the mexican-american war; it never saw combat.

The official flag of deseret is/was this one http://www.thechurchflag.com/
I think it's very pretty.

LDS church doctrine states that christ will eventually come in missourri, so that may or may not have relevence.

The LDS was unlikely to get rid of such notions as blood atonement (human sacrifice, or a better word maybe execution, for severe crimes) or polygamy without federal intervention.

anything else..?
Anything else..?
