The UK has one infantry division?!

I'll bet anything that The Soviets try to completely finish off Europe at some point. It must be an irrisistable target.

Intruiging few updates. :) Lindbergh is waging the war so badly, one wonders whether he is a closet communist. ;)

Very worthy of writer of the week award, as well!

That was shocking to see that Egypt has become nearly the power that Britain is or that Manchukuo can field a larger army if Britian were to go after them. Amazing what has taken place in only a few years. The midterm elections should help to shed some light on the presidental race that is coming quickly.

Mett, are you in the final phase of the Selective Service act? I recall you implemented the gradual phase in but I forget the number of steps and the time period of phase in.

Great update, definitely worth the writer of the week, perhaps of the year????

Final thought, anyone would have to question the political structure of the US if Joe Mac could step in and become the next president. His rise to dominance in the Senate has been amazing, but to see smokin Joe become the pres, well that is too much to handle.

The Soviets have 75 armored divisions
But what about Finland? Why can't we have a puppet government? Maybe the Soviets want to give Kuusinen's Terijoki Government another try?

And 27 others. ;)

Still, I agree - they are extremely weak... Although Soviets got no fleet to land on Isles.

Great update!

VJ- I think that neither of us are going to agree about this, or convince the other of anything n particular. I suppose, coming from this after a year of colonial history, I'm probably inclined to view the British as much more conservative and prone to act. While an Argentine-like attempt to return to the glory days of the late 19th century through a coup and 'managed' democracy appears to be plausible to me, it clearly isn't for you. I'd be happy to debate this well past the point of futility, but I'm conscious I'm leaving long, unsightly posts, wasting the bandwidth and patience of people who came here looking for an AAR.

This talk of the three 'umbrellas' makes me wonder if the AAR might mention a certain author, who ought to be sitting at a typewriter in the Scottish isles right about now...

Another great update.

You guys can forget that that along with the SU's army comes all the puppets that they have control of. Frightening amount. I do not think a full blown war war could be fought with the Soviets. I have a feeling that the Bomb could come into play.

PS: Thanks for the chart.

Actually, the fact that USSR freed puppet states makes it weaker game-wise... New countries will block moves of Soviet AI and will allow USA to fight them (establishing stable foothold on the continent) one at a time, then Big Red Bear later... :(

But Soviets are still strong, even if they partially disarm themself creating "The PACT". :)

One could even use India as a stepping stone into the Asian continent. No need then to worry about puppets, or aliances. With a soon to be alliance with Japan the US could invade the subcontinent and makes its puch againt the Red Tide from there. This could also be used to appease the British. Especially if they could be convinced to join the fight.

Maybe democracy's best hope is for the Allies (and America) to save up all their DI and try to coup the satellites one by one. Then waging war on Russia would be easier with its satellites fighting against it.

Of course we're all assuming Met will play the game through well into the 50's. :)

I have a feeling that it will be called Sofia Pact this time... ;)

That monster Bulgaria is so weird...

Actually, it already got "Vienna Pact" name. :)

On the different topic - seems like Japaneese forces are either withering or upgrading - 125 divisions is not that big number at all.

Are you sure you are not going to strike at some other localions, just to test their strenght? 30-40 divisions in Australia means, that other places can be guarded not so well.

PS. Oh, and I can't wait for nuclear arms race... especially that Soviets got their people in both teams. Unless FBI is actually able to do more, then just beat poor union workers? ;)
