Happy new Year, Everyone !!!



Some member of the Rost 3d Sprites team used the holidays to make a Europa Universalis 3 Divine Wind multiplayer session. I want to share a few of these nice moments in this small AAR. Over and above that you can have a look into our newest SPRITE project.... Enjoy

We play a multiplayer game with 3 human players (Sebastian, Peter and me, Pierre)

Peter plays with Austria
Sebastian plays with the Teutonic Order
and I play with Brandenburg.

The game level is difficult, because we have planned to make a big alliance between all three human players

The main goal og the game is the unification Prussia

Game starts October 14th 1399. Brandenburg is in a personal union with Luxembourg under the leadership of King Jobst I von Luxemburg. The Teutonic Order owns large tracts of land in the east under Hochmeister Konrad von Jungingen and the Kingdom of Austria which is governed by King Albrecht IV von Habsburg wants to get the imperial crown of the Holy Roman Empire.

Nobody could have foreseen that the King of Luxembourg/Brandenburg would be in war against the Kingdom of Burgundy one day later. As expected, the war was lost after two years few and Luxembourg ceased to exist and the Luxembourgian-Brandenburgian personal union, too After the war the new King Friedrich I of Brandenburg decided to join the Austrian-Teutonic Alliance... To avoid a war against Lithuania and to win time the Teutons sold the Province of Samogitia. Now it was time to conquer the first new province---Meissen--- With the new formed alliance the war against Meissen and their alliance members (Pomerania and Mazovia) was a total success. Meissen was annected !

After the annexing of Meissen, the free city of Riga joins the enemy alliance. But it was to late to change the war. So Riga was annected by the Teutons and Pomerania lost the provinces Stettin and Vorpommern to the Brandenburgians and the rest of the country became a vassal of Brandenburg. The King of Austria didn't get anything of the cake, because he wasn't called to arms Mazovia was spared.

It was June 28th 1413 when a dream comes true for the King of Austria. Bohemia lost the imperial crown of the HRE and King Albrecht IV of Austria was proclaimed dei gratia Romanorum imperator electus semper augustus.

Already three years later the last province of Pomerania (Hinterpommern) was friendly annected by the Brandenburgians. This was a really big gladness, because the Teutons became the new neighbors of Brandenburg As Kaiser of the HRE the King of Austria gets his first two new provinces in 1416.

Once over the years the King of Austria has acquired his first port province "La Provence" and all three Countries enjoyed a few years of peace, in 1424 the Polish-Lithuanian Union decided to attack the Teutonic Order, although the Teutons had given away the Province of Samogitia many years before.... As loyal confederates Austria and Brandenburg and TVER joined the war. The Palatinate, Nowgorod and Thuringia and Smolensc joined the alliance of the opposition.

Suddenly during the war Brandenburgian diplomats conviced the sovereign of Saxony to become a vassal of them. Circa at the same time Thuringia was full occupied and decided to make a separate peace.

After two further years of war and after the danes have joined the alliance of the opposition, war ended. The german Triple-Alliance and their Allies won the war. The winner decided to create two new Countries (Moldova and the Ukraine). In addition, the Austrians won some new provinces, because of their Imperial Crown.

The peace treaty envisaged that the polish province of Poznan became austrian. But Poznan was given away to the teutons a few days later, because the displeasure increased in Austria. The Lithuanian province of Samogitia became Teutonic, too. To top the glorious victory the winner decided to create a further new country ---- Slesia ----

Unfortunately, the Austrian Kaiser of the HRE wasn't able to expand the territory of the Reich. This would be a further goal for the Kaiser of the HRE.

A time of peace and reconstruction began...

In 1444 the Teutonic Order joined the Holy Roman Empire. Henceforth
three big countries would belong to the Reich.
