So, by the 1300 most of us will most likely either have quit or rule a vast empire. now my question is, do you find yourself rooting for one of the tiny nations stubornly resisting the missive blobs with all they can muster?
In my Byz > Roman Empire game i now rule most of the old empire, minus France and half of Iberia. about a 50 years ago i noticed a one province Denmark having lost most of its lands to independance wars and those silly dukes were soon eaten by HRE and GH forces. i took it upon me to fund that tiny nation and see what would happen.

Fast foreward 50 years and the new king has reclamed 3 provinces after a succesfull war against the HRE (so many mercenaries lost their lives) and is not sitting pretty on about 30k gold after banishing a lord mayor :D

long story short, do other find thse sort of things more interesting than actually managing your own behemoth of an empire?

I'm not good enough to get to the point of owning a huge empire, the most land I have ever conquered was playing as Castille and reconquering half of Iberia by 1250's many patches ago. I do enjoy watching other countries and checking out their rulers though.

In my latest game I did see the Ynglings of Norway get ousted off their throne by some other dynasty in a succession war, with the Yngling, 5 year old former king then inheriting England somehow. A few years after inheriting England Denmark Inherited Yngling England and a chunk of Norway the Yngling dynasty was dukes of.
The funny thing is after so many inheritances the Kingdom of England has been destroyed as a title and is now back to being a group of squabbling dukes. All this has happened by 1092 mind you, I'm playing as Erik the Heathen having took back the throne in CK2+, so i don't know how much this mod changes politics etc.
