Hello there, and welcome to my little corner of AARland. My last two AARs were failures, do to various computer issues. Hopefully this one will be different. So, who am I going to guide through history? The mighty English? The Powerful Spanish? No. This AAR will feature Riga. No, you don't have to clean your computer screen, I said Riga.

I might fail. No, I will probably fail. Which makes this all the more amusing.

These are the settings I will be using.
I will be using Miscmods, with the Grand Campaign scenario.

Well, good luck. Though, I don't think it'll be that hard. You just have to beat the Teutons, and then you're set, since you don't have to worry about inflation.

Chapter One: The Teutonic Question

My first move is to accept the cultural shift. Riga is a Prussian province, and the stability is a lot cheaper now than it will be in the future.

I recruit this guy, who is a level 4 fort defense guy, and my only option for an adviser.

I unpause the game, forgetting to do my sliders.

When I remember, I take move towards defensive.
The peasants are dealt with.

All of my stability is regained.

I start sending merchants, because I remember they are free.

My allies are having some trouble.

I recruit my second regiment, and am forced to defund my military.

I take the inflation, then discover that I am not losing any inflation. Sigh...

I notice that the Teutonics are at war with the French. I use a spy to infiltrate their administration.

Now this is interesting. I have 2000 men, and so do they. If I were to attack, the Hansa will join me. However, knowing the AI there is a good chance that they will build more troops if I attack.

What should I do?

Very cool start! As for the Teutonic question.... I'm not sure I'd attack yet. You may have equal numbers, but they've sufficient provinces and manpower to raise a larger army rather rapidly. At some point they'll war with Lithuania, Poland, or even Bohemia, and that might be a better time to make your move.

Of course they might destroy you by then. Ah, the life of a OPM is exciting indeed! :)

Take a loan, declare war, raise war taxes, recruit mercenaries, snipe their newly recruited troops with your army and siege with mercenaries. By that time Hansa would bring help and would prevent any ship activity.

And of course, good luck!

Like Valens Bellator said, wait until the Teutonic Order is in a losing war, and then strike. Good luck!

My past two AARs have been ended prematurely by various computer problems. I am disappointed to inform all of you that this one is no different. The laptop which this AAR was done on had a faulty hard drive, which had to be replaced. As a result, this AAR is dead. I did play another few years in the future though. I beat the Teutons and annexed their northern provinces.
