That sounds disastrous. Let the French be and send everything you can to the landing zone. The Germans will soon concentrate on your landings with the French being so passive. Without major reinforcements, you will be crushed. Launching an offensive right now would be a disaster.

I don't think so. IMO, the time to strike is now, as if you'll wait long enough for the Germans to transfer all of their forces from Poland to the western border, the landing zone will be eradicated anyway. There are only two ways of saving their lives: you can pull them back now, or you can continue to attack while their forces are weak and divided.

And then after about a week of small gains the German reinforcements will arrive and his forces will be alltogether smashed. Great plan. Yes, the landing zones may be smashed, but with considerable reinforcement and dug in troops, there will at least be a chance. Lets say we do what you want. He attacks and takes Berlin. Then what? He has no way to hold it with such forces arriving against him. He will be crushed and forced back to the landing zones. Then, disorganized, he will be forced off in a Dunkirk style massacre. If he digs in and brings up strong reserves, he just might stand a chance of holding.

The Germans cannot attack France with a strong landing zone. If you send reinforcements to the landing zones, then you will have a knife in the back of any German attack on France. If they comit sufficient forces to crush France, then you can attack into the heart of Germany forcing them back.

I think the only option is to reinforce the landing zones now with everything you've got.

I think you are right here- The Germans will definently focus on me before they try to do anything to France however if they counterattack, in the expected huge numbers, and my troops in Germany are massacred then...we really are screwed.

Victory is Only One Reich Away.....

....Poland continues to be carved up by the vicious dogs known as Germany and Soviet Union, every day her demise comes closer....her future, what was once a bright star, is now but a shimmering light - Poland and the brave men who have died-including those who surely will in the coming weeks-must be avenged. She is a beacon of light in a red sea, when she falls so will a part of ourselves however her tradgedy must fuel our resiliance in the hope and knowledge that, not only will we save and spread the Freedoms and Liberties that she so valiantly fought to defend but..ultimately, we shall return to Poland and help her raise from her ashes and destroy those who wish to rid the world of freedom and liberty....

That was a speech made recently by the Prime Minister of Britain and he is right when he says that Britain is going to have to do without Poland for quite a while...her war is as good as over. However lets not forget Yugoslavia as i certainly do not envy their position- attacked from three sides and by armies more powerful than her own...sadly her defeat is inevitable too and we will lose yet another valuable ally.

Our most immediate method of advance is through our front in Germany and to make sure we can hold of German attacks and continue to push deeper into Germany we have sent a further nine divisions - three from Britain and two from the Belgian border in France. On top of that we have decided to send Field Marshall Ironside to the new front in the hope his expertise will be invaluable against German troops. We still await construction of more submarines as our very first fleet is still short of three Submarines, the trip from Britain to Germany is becoming increasingly hazardous , we are suffering frequent attacks from both the Kreigsmarine and the US navy which has caused damage to the Royal Navy.
We also desparately need more fighters to protect Britain and help attack Germany, the production of the Spitfire will go ahead immediatly.

Our new Crusader Tanks are currently Under Construction

Why do you keep sending forces to Magonit line? Germany never attacks that. Just pull them out and cover your bridgehead. Anyone good luck.

i had troops there in the hope i could break out into Germany. Im quite happy though now that Ironside will get his first taste of combat, lets see if he lives up to his name!

An update! Yes!

By the way, can't you (when you've got some reinforcements there) attack Wilhelmshafen? It's not defended, there are planes on the airfield, and it will deny the Kriegsmarine a port right next to your landing zone. If you have the RN parked outside, you could even intercept the fleet as it sails out of port.

Yes, i agree with you 100% the reason i havent already taken it is i have only one army there [3divisions] but more men from the new force that has just landed are heading there as we speak! Once they arrive i will launch an immediate attack on Wilhelmshafen.

very nice! well at least poland and yugo are drawing divs away from you and france right?

Thanks

Exactly, as long as they can prolong their existence and tie up Communist troops then it keep them off our backs [France and Britain] however i must admit, regardless of who my ally is..i hate seeing them defeated- for the sole reason of they are my ally :p

he's not allied with denmark i dont think

Correct

The Air War

The Attack on Germany is going reasonably well, the main problem on this front is the Luftwaffe. The sheer strength of the combined German and Soviet airforces is making us consider retreat. The RAF has been crippled and our Spitfires are still under construction so the Luftwaffe has free reign over our troops and this is indeed worrying - we have lost a division due to enemy attacks and bombing. It is impossible for us to hinder all Luftwaffe airfields out of action without taking more heavy losses. A retreat would put us back on the defensive and allow the Communists breathing space to Annex both Poland and Yugoslavia however our continued assault will drain vast numbers of manpower and it is questionable how long we will hold on when our Allies are Annexed however for now we will continue the fight as retreating will take away any advantage we have over the Germans.

The Next Generation: The Spitfire

On a personal note....i must admit i frequently wonder how this all could have happened...such death and suffering..chaos on a scale never before seen or imagined....how could a war so Epic have been allowed to happen!?

Lessons to learn

It is good to see an AAR where the player makes mistakes and doesnt get it right first time. I think that with hindsight it was a huge mistake to DoW the facists, their fleets are such a threat to your trade and to your ability to import raw materials from your colonies. Also without their naval threat you wouldnt have to stockpile raw material and you could trade them for supplies and be able to build more troops.
I think another mistake is the lack of value you put on a friendly nation staying neutral, for example with the small eastern european countries it might have been worth keeping them neutral to keep a barrier between the SU and you so that you can defeat germany without their interference. You could have given them guarantees instead of bringing them into a war in which they will be bulldozed. Also you might have been able to feed nationalist china tech without bringing them into an alliance.
