Scenario: The same as Oranje's Holland, but using standard GC settings, The Knights are a major power instead of Austria (later in the game i plan to remove the major status of other countries when necessary)
Version: Eng 1.09
Special thanks to: Oranje (i hope you don't mind my using your scenario) and Cycn for information how to handle screenies problem.

I don't want to bore you with all these happenings that were going on in the country - i will only concentrate on screenies and discussing possible development strategies - everybody is welcomed to join in.

Here you go - The Knights of St. john - weak and poor, unable to complete their mission of bringing freedom to the Holy Land. Unable to fight for the True Faith against heathens.
Our allies - Genoa, Parma and Tuscany.
-----------------
Stepping Stones Campaign
The first thing we ave decided to do was to conquer one of the three weakest muslin countries - possibly one with little if no armies, and rich enough to provide us with the resources to continue our mission. We have immediatelly embarked our troops and moved in the direction of Tunisian Coast.
On our way we have noticed that neither Cyrenaica, nor Tripolitania, nor Tunisia had any forces, thus we have decided to immediatelly attack the richest if the three - Tunisia, after a few months of siege Tunisia has been annexed in early 1493 without our losing any troops. Annexation doubled our Navy.
We were a very poor nation, so the only solution was to invest all the money in stability, so as not to increase the inflation. All the money we were receiving from taxes with the begining of each new year were spent on new land forces.
November 1493 brought us into first major war - Milano (allied with Spain and England) declared on our allies of Genoa (both Tuscany and Parma failed to keep their promises). We were still a very weak nation, but apparently Spaniards had no defences whatsoever on any of their island possesions. We have decided to invade Sicily and sieged it.

Sicily has been conquered in August 1494. We have imediatelly moved our forces further east to Messina. Unfortunatelly the Spaniards were building more and more troops on Malta and Sardinia, so our chances of getting any of these were falling dramatically. Additionally the English landed on Rhodes.

Many voices at the council were calling for our immediate retreat from Messina to repell English invaders. Yet it has been decided that to protect our forces on Sicily and in Tunisia we would need a place to station them in case of Spanish aggression. Tripolitania had to be our natural pick and all the forces not involved in siege in Messina were sent to Tripolis.
Within the next 3 years we have conquered both Messina and Tripolitania, unfortunatelly Spain was apparently not about to agree to give us any of Sicilian provinces. The only choice was to strike the leader of the allance - Milano. Finally in September 1498 we have succeeded to overcome Milanese forces and decided to demand Sicily, Messina and 500 ducats for Milanese independence. We have received only 341 ducats - yet that money was to help us greatly.

The outcome of the war was far more then anyone could have actually dream of. We have captured two relatively rich provinces - but most important we have won a war against a far stronger alliance consisting of two "major" powers. The citizens on Rhodes were also rejoining for it meant the end of English occupation of the island.

Despite two Annexations and a Milanese War we were still loved by everyone.

The last step of the Stepping Stones Campaign has been seen in Cyrenaica in 1500 and 1501. We have declared and sieged the country. in the meantime our allies of Genoa had a major success by conquering Milan and annexing it in Feb 1501. Ganoa finished its war with Spain by paying them some unimportant sum of money. Cyrenaica has fallen into our hands in June 1501.
