This is a fantasy thread for escapists.
I have read numerous threads on the site wishing to combine CK2 with other strategy games in the Paradox Stable (such as Mounted Blade), or even without (the Sims), only to be shouted down by people throwing the cold water of reason on their dreams.
Let's suspend realism for a second and imagine what elements of which games would you shoe-horn together in order to create the Ultimate Strategy Game, no limits to game size, ram, or hardware.
Personally-
I would take CK2 (of course) for plot mechanics, relations, and politics and war contributions, with every character playable, low-born and high-born.
I would take the Total War games for cities, unit movements, land and sea-battles, that latter two being playable if you're a general/admiral of an army or fleet. Furthermore, I'd add some of their diplomacy options for international diplomacy usable by the king or chancellor.
Assassins Creed for Assassin/spy missions, if you held the role of spymaster, or worked for the spymaster, discovering plots through eavesdropped or tailing suspicious characters. I'd also use the latest Assassins Creed for trade and crafting, while using Skyrim for individual Crafting.
Skyrim's skill system superimposed onto CK2's trait system.
The Simms/Oblivion for improving individual diplomacy through conversation.
Assassins Creed III naval battles, when you're only in charge of one ship.
Mount and Blade when you're fighting as part of a unit/leading a unit, but not leading the entire army.
What would your Ultimate Frankenstein's Monster of Strategy Games be?
