Events that impact money or IC for a time period.

Annoys the crap out of me that I have an event that increases/decreases something. For example I can see that I have an increase to IC by ten percent. If I save and log in a week later, I wont recall when the bonus/negative effect ends or has a duration.

It would be ideal if it said that the IC increase of ten percent ends 1st December 1938 etc. At least then you would have dates for any event that affects resources, production etc.

Dynamic background music: IIRC ´Panzer General´ had this, and it added quite a bit to immersion.
I lack the vocab to desribe music, really, but suffice it to say, that when things are going well, the music is ´joyfull´ and when things look bleak it changes to dark innuendo. It bothers me now (after years) to always listen to the same uneventful loop in HoI3.

(BTW, the ´research done´ sound of HoI3 is the ST:TNG ´doorbell´ in double speed and played twice, isnt it?)

I'm pretty sure they've got a bit of this in EU4 and CK2 (different tracks for when you're at war and when you're at peace - I have a memory that this may have been the way in HoI3 as well, but it's a pretty fuzzy memory). It's a bit trickier in HoI4, because normally after a certain date, the war starts and then it keeps going for the rest of the game, so they'd need more nuanced conditions for what to play when (maybe base the track selection on the warscore/VP balance/results of the last five conflicts or something, to pick the mood?), but I recall in the livestream when they talked about the music, they definitely had differences between peacetime and wartime music in mind at least.

1- Option to only attack at daylight as standard (instead of Always having to adjust hour)

2- Option to block airforce from doing attacks if cloudy and worse weathers

3- CAGs that work properly regarding lost ORG and no CAG duty on storms blizzards etc

I always used to set my CAGs to daytime only.

Not for the obvious Org' regen' benefits, but 'cause I thought it more realistic and I'm a nerd. :)

I suppose it would be possible to encounter extreme weather conditions like blizzards in the Bering, Norwegian and Barents seas.


Or you could always try Battle.net

Supply Dumps would be a nice feature, not only to shorten the gap between capital or port to the front lines but also a nice juicy target for the Germans in oh lets say late Dec 1944 :D It would also be nice to get the old hoi2 feature back with the supply unit for 30days thing. I'm a supply junkie haha

Since now the battle plans will mostly handle the combat, thus reducing the tediousness of managing every move on every province, wouldn't make sense to increase the number of provinces, to enhance the combat system and the degree of movement?

North Pole becomes expansionist blob by 1946 if left unchecked. Santa Claus is Ruthless Dictator kind of Head of State.

Alternatively, UK sending CAGs to farm XP in Norway in 1940 is another way of possibly having CAGs in blizzard weather regions. I don´t know how it will work in this version but in HOI3 it was a silly way of farming air combat doctrine and air battles (for those kinds of mods which required number of battles to unlock tech or strategic effects) :)

Naturally, AI UK also uses CAGs when Germany tries to support invasions there, and carriers in the Kattegat was also a common sight in older HOIs like Darkest Hour.

I have been playing TFH the last few days as I wait for HOI4 and I had a small idea I thought I would post. I would like to see the importance of bridges brought into the game. In TFH all rivers are the same the assumption is you dont capture the bridges and have a penalty for crossing the river. My thought, hope, idea is that given the new battle plans that there would be a combat event "bridges captured in tact" or if defending "bridges blown" If the bridges are captured then there is no penalty or reduced penalty for a river crossing, if the bridges are blown then there would be a larger river crossing penalty or a movement penalty in undefended provinces. Certain generals/units could give bonuses to the possibility of either outcome. I know this is a small thing but it would really add to immersion and the importance of planning and surprise. Only provinces with rivers depicted on the map would be affected by this event.

A couple of minor changes I'd like to see:
1. Being able to sort and/or filter the production queue and research queues. It would make it quicker to find how long is left to go on a key project or build.
2. I'm colour blind, and on HOI3, some of the map views were hard to use (the infrastructure level map and supply maps in particular). We should be able to select or change colour coding on maps to better suit our own needs.
