Yes, and if the world would open its eyes and gang the muslims, its OE that would take the punches and mughals that stays untouched. Either way, mughals stay the untouchable hypertechers in the east for the rest of the game. Now THAT is what is stagnating.

If you asked me, I believe that for this reason the I. Mughal is playing well.

I don't believe that the help of I. Mughal to OE is stagnating the game (perhaps only in my russian frontier). I think that the OE is having wars against all his neighbours. Could I ask when the Austria have a serious war against another neighbour? ;) (well, defend the BB against Poland is not my impresion of a serious war ;)) :p

I wasn't talking about that war Luis. That one was an even war, which is why it ended at WP (imo). I'm talking about the current situation. Right now, Mughals is stronger than Spain and stronger than Austria. OE is also stronger than Spain and stronger than Austria. Combined, they are much stronger than that alliance. If however you would combine OE and France, the balance is much more even. Mughals is untouchable for any European power except a gangbang of all and so as long as it is allied to OE it is a pool of richness and manpower for that nation. Spain can never be like that since it can be touched in Europe.

The sucess of the Mughals is up to your point of view... I'm sure I would get bored of just sitting in Asia - hyperteching 3 sessions long. On the other hand I've tried to get a major conflict into every session I've had. The fact that my economical success is N/A just doesn't bother me too much. :D I just want nice balanced wars...

A small summary of the situation as it stands (with possible reasons for stagnation)

France is too weak to fight a war on its own against even one of the Hapsburgs, however it poses a threat if it allies with a country already at war with the Hapsburgs. This means that Ozzeh does not want to get into a war for fear of a French attack.
Sweden, Holland and Brandenburg are too small to fight anyone but eachother in a 1 vs 1 war, and have bad relations with eachother so a coalition there is unlikely.
Russia is trying to fight Poland but the two countries are stalemated, and now they have realised this are not willing to fight again because they have enemies on either side (austria, BB for Poland and ottos and Sweden for Russia) who can deliver a crushing attack against one of the war exhausted provinces.
Spain can only effectively fight France, who have been severly beaten before and so they do not want to make an unplayable France. Any war against the OE is very difficult as they do not have a land border.
The OE knows it cannot beat Mughals in a war it, would become a stalemate (same for the mughals) and he is sure that the Hapsburgs would pounce.
anyway.
Both the OE and Mughals realise it is far more benefical to be at peace then to have to guard those borders and so they support one another as it is the only way the Mughals can stop themselves being bored.

Thoughts?

It was not my firewall. It was my connection or the effects of to switch off the firewall (when I activate the firewall again and run an antivirus software I "only" detect 719 spyware infected files... (being only 2-3 hours without firewall I believe that it can be a little Guiness record))

Well whatever it was I hope you will have it fixed before next session, not that your sub was bad. After all I do believe he upheld you order of allowing no conversions in N-Africa. Thats alot of Spyware, better stop browsing those X-rated sites.

Dr Bob said:
I blame your crazy GFX

And yes the scene you described above is usually typical of the middle game, where no side has a clear leader or tech advantage and most of the territorial ambitions have been satisfied.
You may also notice that about 1/2 of all wars in the game so far have centred around me in Brandenburg is some way, now that I have moved country...

Well as soon as this England gets to a decent tech level and slightly lowered inflation I will attempt to attack someone for your amusement

Why are you winking me, its just EGUFSM 1.1 . Can it cause any incompatability issues, if so I have never heard of any. If its just because Star Blade should have known what GFX it is, then forget I brought it up.

Just like to point out that 1/2 the wars have not centered about you, I have fought just as many conflicts as you. They were certainly not as die-hard as yours :D , but non the less just as many. Once again the numbers will prove me right. ;)

If you thinking of amusing me by coming after me, I'd think you have more pressing matter to attend to elsewhere. I have seen some disturbing settlers leaving Amsterdam that would indicate that your integrity in N-America has been compromised. Besides As England you might have kick ass leaders, but you barely have more MP than you had as Brandenburg. :p

Ozzeh said:
Austria did what I do best, namely hyperteching . I'm sorry if I make the game stagnate a bit, its just that I'm reluctant to attack OE with the stupid mughals funding them and if necessary joining in . As it stands now they are just a pool for extra MP, money and troops for OE. I really hope Pibe will spice things up soon and attacks OE or something. If he does that, I will not intervene .

Btw, Austria now has higher income then Spain. Perhaps I should fund you Engel?

It certainly wasn't my intention do start any finger-pointing. It was more just an observation that the good Doctor has already answered. Besides I have been just as guilty of refraining from a hard conflict as anyone else. I still have OE to attend to, they simply occupy far too much of what should be my southern provinces. :eek:o Of course the love affair between OE and Mughals hasn't been reassuring, but those are just poor excuses.

I'd just like to point it out too you that there is absolutly no stalemate between me and Poland and that I have realised nothing at all. Poland should be just a rather large duchie in the kingdom of Russia. So it should be, so it shall be. I have already fought Sweden on 5 occasions and while he has shown himself as a most worthy and resourcfull foe, I'm not in anyway frightened by any imminent invasion from Sweden. Of course OE is a different matter, he has already shown himself too be far too dangerous and very willing to take any oppurtunity that presents itself to enlargen his own domain. Of course that would apply to any of us, but since he has more than enough power to actually carry out the threat makes things different

Other than that I just hope we will continue too have fun, I'm learning alot. Of course there have been a couple of times where I should have done better and maybe differently, but overall I'm very much enjoying this session.

Re Papa

Wow - Papa is planning to once again attack poor neighbour - Poland :p . Of course that we don't have a trully peace on our border with Papa because Papa still refuse to talk about some Nap - so Poland must enter this cold war and stay in it for a long time....

We don't have a boring session until now Bob so i don't think that we will have any till the game ends. Every session there are wars(i had only one session peacefully) and all others were more like a all day fight ;) ... but this make game more interesting(i hope i managed to defend against Russian hordes once more but this time i see that they have 3 times more troops than Poland  - that is definitely not a good message to Poland :(

No, I think that he can't do this (the 3 provinces that was not allowed to convert in N-Africa was taken by my hand before the substitution and the 4th is now catholic :( ) but seriously it was very difficult to take this 4th provinces before the conversion.

Time change question?

For those of us in the USA, we have had a time change, the clock moves back one hr. So, will we still meet at the same time, or do I need to show up an hour early my time.

We meet at the same time - we too had the time change in Europe :) (1 hour our clocks moved back....)
