The Teutonic Order and its big problem.

When the Teutonic Order arrives in the game the Order gets several holdings from different kings. After a short time the kings declare war on him and want these territorries back. I find this a bit silly. Also the orders should "hire themself" when they are attacking/deffending against religious enemies.

I hope this gets fixed.

Not only this but a Holy Order should be able to hire themselves to defend against Christians that are attacking them as well.

would have to add some new coding that permits special cases where Holy Orders can engage Christian armies that go hostile against land holders who are Marshals of a Holy Order, to prevent simply allowing Holy Orders to attack Christians in all instances.

Correct.... so lets hope a dev notices this, unless that is moddable. I haven't seen where the combat restrictions are in the code.

Skip the historical realism on this part and let it trigger an event that will allow you to hire holy orders after you're first holy war. If you start in 1066 you'll never see the shadow of the Sword brethern or Teutonic knights before all the baltic land is occupied by the catholic nations.

Which is kinda funny since historically one Polish duke gave land to TO and then some years later the Polish kings constantly warred with the order. DON'T YOU THINK?

That's correct.

Historically, the Teutonic Order and Poland-Lithuania were embroiled in war for a fairly long time.
What I don't understand is why the TO and other holy orders CAN'T attack other catholic countries, or use their own holy order for troops. That should be fixed.

When do the Teutonic Order arrive? I've never seen them :S
In CK1 they always took land from me in Balticum.

As Sweden, the Pope suggested I give Kola to them, which I did. Denmark also gave them a province in de jure Karelia. A couple of years later I see they are both Danish.

Also if you give them castles in holy land they're crippled by the long (20 years I think) wrong religion/culture pillage modifier the baronies have meaning they can't produce any levies or money.

The same happened in a MP game with a friend of mine. The problem with this is, you can't hire them anymore. So I did the same to the other orders to prevent this. I can hire them now for 37 piety and no monthly costs.
I don't understand. How did they get a holy order to accept vassalisation? With a Basque (Iberian) HRE and maxed relations I still cannot get a Castillian (Iberian) Knights Templar to accept vassalisation. They say I am the wrong culture even though we are in the same culture group. I can't imagine a Mongol being able to overcome that penalty in any way with a German Grand-Master. Something is broken for this to happen and me to never be able to vassalise.

There is a special 'Horde' Casus Belli if I remember correctly. It allows them to quickly gobble up land by forcing them all to vassalise. Of course they instantly rebel the next year, and the Mongols are embroiled in rebellions pretty much blunting their advance (in my games anyway).
