Anyway, the winter of 1657-1658 saw a Swedish/Danish war where the swedish main army withdraw from Poland and marched over the ice to Sjaelland.
That might be one of the reasons to why Poland managed to recover, but it could also be that the danish war was a very convenient way to get out of Poland without being fully defeated.
