20. Operation Barbarossa, part 2
IJN destroyers on ASW duty winning battle against Soviet pride of the fleet, however Soviet fleet disengaged before destroyers could inflict some damage to them.
Small encirclement has been accomplished in vicinity of Vladivostok. However this means nothing as number of Soviet divisions is extremely high.
This defensive battle demonstrates clear superiority IJA has against Soviets. Imperial Japanese Army does not have that many foots but is far more experienced.
IJA is advancing into Mongolia to quickly end Soviet reign there. Notice that Japanese have been attacking enemy armour in the mountains and commies were behind the river.
I wonder how helpful will this be as IJA is advancing every day.
Fleet of Yamamoto Isoroku is rapidly advancing towards Soviet fleet eager to sink 'mighty' Red navy.
The battle itself is pleasure to watch, but was nothing more than target practice. If this battle would happen few days earlier it would be on 36th anniversary of battle of Tsushima strait.
Soviet pride of the fleet, Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya, was sunk by mighty IJN Yamashiro, which already sunk at least one more enemy pride of the fleet (French one).
Actually this was one of the most satisfying sights in the game one can watch, needless to say Soviet fleet was obliterated.
After one month in operation Barbarossa, progress is noticeable. Even Iran managed to put pressure on Soviets and their forces are marching towards Baku. However I am afraid that after some serious Soviet forces will arrive there they will be crushed so I've decided to ship 2 infantry corps there in order to help them and strengthen Iranian front.
Looks like another front against Soviets will be opened soon.
In Mongolia rapidly advancing cavalry managed to enter Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.
Soviets are now defending themselves on 4 fronts.
3rd IJN carrier task force has been finished. IJN now has 2 SAGs and 3 CTFs, also Yamato's sister ship, Musashi, is under construction.
IJN is now ready to challenge US pacific fleet.
What I've said about Italy being useful? That was the worst move ever as Yugoslavia was accepted into Allies and this put them also at war with Germany and the German AI decided it would be best to send half of the forces which should be used for Barbarossa into Yugoslavia.
Progress after 2 months of Barbarossa. It may seem that nothing is happening in the east and that's partly true as the provinces there are quite big and it takes extended periods of time just to move to another province and the resistance IJA is encountering is negligible.
However good news are that Germans are about to reach Leningrad even with half of their army in Yugoslavia.
Also in Mongolia the 'Regime is weak' event fired, perhaps they think that Soviets are unable to protect them against might of the Imperial Japanese army after they've lost their capital.
