That's not a bad spread for 8 empires in a galaxy that large. Sure, the right side of the galaxy is uninhabited, but the fun of playthroughs like that in my opinion is the focus on colonization after the early game instead of expansion by conquest.
Are you sure about that? What does "looking random" mean?It doesn't look and isn't random is the problem, it is still clustered.
You don't seem to understand what "random" means. That is NOT what random means. What you want is either a uniform distribution if you want empires spread out evenly or alternatively, if you don't want that, I don't understand what the fuck your problem is because I fail to see how there would be any other meaningfull option than "clusters", "random" and "uniform" that in some way make sense as an empire distrubution. If you want uniform distribution you will need to search for a mod because the basegame does not supply that, but if you actually put in a sensible amount of empires "random" will be close enaugh to "random" anyways. It doesn't look and isn't random is the problem, it is still clustered.
That's also not how pseudo random numbers work buddy. Paradox are not total noobs, they will have taken a proper pseudo random number generator and added a sensible distribution function. Random means random. Random does not mean "not ordered". You could randomly generate a perfectly ordered galaxy and it would stil be randomly generated. Random means just "what you get is entirely up to chance". Random could just as well mean "all empires are squeezed into the upper left corner and the rest is empty space". And with a proper distribution function this should be no problem, heck, the damn c++ standard library has some, it isn't hard to do.Two of them are literally on opposite sides of the galaxy. Random does things like this that's why its random and computers have a hard time being truly random they tend to fall into patterns after a while. If you can show me a thousand different pictures of the random setting clustering empires together in a role then you would have better evidence of what you are trying to say.
Are you one of those people who do not understand the word "random" and think it means "equal"?
