with the exeption of the war aginst the USA, none of the wars have been very difficult due to me being allied at the moment with german, italy and russia. glad you like it so far, theres another supriseingly quick war in the next update.

With the war against Britain now over we demobilize our military and start work on rebuilding and strengthening our army in Africa by replacing the units we lost and building a new army of 30,000 men. Meanwhile in Europe war breaks out on the 20th of November 1897 when Germany declares war on Austria to add it to its sphere. The Austrians are joined by the French and Swiss.

Just like the last few wars the Germans focus their efforts on Austria and crush their small armies. In the meantime the Swiss and the French attack western Germany.
By the 7th of April 1898 most of the Austria has been occupied and its army has been destroyed but there is still hope for them as the French drive eastwards and overwhelm the Germans with their superior numbers. The Germans put up a valiant fight but by may they realize all is lost and sign a peace losing Alsace Lorraine to the French for the second time.
On the 13th of December war breaks out again due to Italian aggression when Italy declares war on Austria for south Tirol. The weak Austrian state is joined yet again by the newly confident French fresh from their victory over the Germans, however the Italians have the endless Russian hordes on their side and now they have us.
The first battle of the war takes place when the French cross the border into Gerona while we begin mobilization. On the 13th of January 1899 we move in to attack the French before they can dig themselves in. the battle starts with us initially at a disadvantage but the French are suffering from supply problems which will be their downfall.
On the 25th to shorten our defensive line the 2nd army moves northwards to occupy Pau and the 16th army moves in to Huesca and prepares itself to aid the 2nd army if the French attack. On the 12th of February we send troops northwards to occupy Foix and Perpignan to prevent the French from retreating from Gerona.
On the 30th of April we suffer our first defeat at the hands of the French in North Africa as attrition and disease slowly reduce our army of 60,000 to 800 men.
By May the 4th the French have attacked our troops in Pau and Foix and are trying to push us back across the border. The same day the battle of Gerona come to an end in a Spanish victory when we allow the French to retreat further into our own territory.
On the 13th we learn of atrocities being committed against westerners by the boxers in china but are unable to do anything about it due to the current war.
On the 5th of June we defeat the retreating French yet again at the battle of Lerida. A few days later we are forced to retreat from Carcassonne back to Perpignan we have dug ourselves in ready to repel the eventual French attack.
On the 26th of July we defeat the invading French army in South America in a similar fashion to how we defeated the British a few years ago at Medellin. By the 14th of august the French are defeated again at Barranquilla and Cartagena de indias is re occupied.
While the battle of the Pyrenees rages on with thousand on both sides dyeing, we defeat the French in North Africa at the battle of chenachene.
On the 12th of November the battle of Foix ends in a pyrrhic victory for France after confusion leads to the troops retreating to Gerona (in other words I accidentally told them to retreat).
On the 1st of December the battle of Pau comes to an end in a huge Spanish victory, despite being outnumbered our troops show the French what they are made of and what Spain is made of. During this bloody battle over 140,000 French troops perish and 32,000 Spanish die. The French tried to overwhelm our defences with numbers but they failed and now we have the advantage of numbers over the French.
By the 17th the French army is in full retreat and has been decisively beaten on all fronts. Combat continues in Italy and we continue to fight the small French armies that are left at Perpignan and Toulouse.
On the 25th of December 1899 peace is signed with us acquiring western morocco, the Russians acquiring Austrian Moldavia and the Italians taking a huge chunk of land from Austria. In 1898 it seemed as though the French where the strongest nation in Europe again after their victory over Germany but it now seems as though the French are as weak as ever, whilst we remain as strong as ever and our allies have grown even stronger. Is this the start of a new European order?

Hmm, looks like you were taking heavier losses than the French up until the final climactic bloodbath that wiped out the bulk of their army. Might have to look into what's causing the higher losses on your side (I'm guessing negative officer attributes). Meanwhile, it looks like Germany will finally be able to sphere Austria in a few years now that France's back is broken.
in north africa terrain and attrition, in europe the french where dug in in the mountains just like i was for the last 3 battles which gave me the advantage. if you think frances back is broken now just wait for the next update.

I eagerly await the next update. If France still has Hell to give, I hope you crush them like you did in the last go. With their "decline in birthrate" modifier, they can't afford to sustain such heavy losses without hurting their economy.

Uhm... Italy taking Carinthia and Styria from Austria – isn’t it a little bit implausible and also providing for some bad looking borders in the Central Europe? Who was the war leader on your side? Was in not possible to acquire Savoy from France instead?

On the other hand, it is nice to see that you have been able to capture the French enclave in what is definitely your corner of Africa. Hopefully you will also be able to grab back the Rock from the English one day.

yeah i agree the borders arent the best i did consider editting them to give that part of austria back to austria but decided not too. i was war leader but i only found out i was warleader when the french sent me a peace proposal accepting all of our demands i didnt even know italy added that as a wargoal until i looked at the map afterwards. i was gonn grab the rock but russia peaced out just as i was gonna add the war goal so it's a good job i didnt or that would have been 10 infamy for nothing.Uhm... Now that France is weak, take all of Occitania, for they are truly Spanish territory under French occupation.
If he does that, then France will just attack him the instant the truce expires and drag it out for the rest of the game. Though teamed up with Germany it'll be too weak to keep it up indefinitely.
I doubt that France will attack him if he has a good military score and Italy and Germany as allies.Otherwise you could always give the north half to the Germans.

Nice work against France. By the looks of things, Spain is the new #1 European military power! Once the truce runs out, it might be a good idea to finish France off once and for all.

With the war against the French now over we demobilize. The same day the government decides to expand the railroad network throughout the empire to improve our infrastructure and increase the speed of mobilization in case of a future war.
On the 24th of April 1900 we acquire a model colony, a colony that is envied by the other colonial powers and is seen as a perfect example of what a colony should be. We gain some prestige and research points due to the model colony event and our militancy is lowered.
On the 27th of July our expedition to the north pole returns without success, upon finding out we decide to pay £2000 for a third attempt to reach the pole.
On the 26th of august the communists rise up against the government across Spain. All the communist forces are defeated by September.
While war rages between France, Austria and Britain and Poland, things have taken an unusual turn. The Polish have occupied all of Austria and the French have invaded and occupied Britain!!!!!!!! (I have never seen the computer do this). On the 12th of May 1902 we take a look in the paper to discover that the Americans have reached the North Pole. On the 1st of October the war in Europe comes to an end in a white peace.
On the 16th of March we decide that we will attend the 3rd Olympic Games.
On the 22nd of May 1903 another war between France and Germany begins over Alsace –Lorraine. As with the previous wars the Germans overwhelm Austria before the can mobilize so that they can then turn with all their might to fight France.
On the 9th of June rebellion brakes out in Cuba, the garrison in Havana comes under attack by the rebel forces. On the 24th the battle of Havana comes to an end in a stunning victory for the Spanish garrison. After the victory we march eastwards to defeat all of the remaining rebel armies.
On the 16th of august Austria accept the German offer of white peace. The Germans then proceed to overwhelm the Netherlands and Switzerland, while engaging the French on the border. On the 24th we pass the political reform weighted universal voting in an attempt to reduce militancy.
On the 19th of September the Americans declare war on Mexico. Due to the Americans attempting to flex their muscles again we begin justifying war against the American sphereling of Guatemala. On the 30th the French surrender Alsace –Lorraine to the Germans once again. (this is getting really repetitive)
In July 1904 we declare war on Guatemala and invade. To our surprise the Americans decide not to come to the aid of their ally and leave them to their demise. The Guatemalan government willingly surrenders preferring annexation into the honourable Spanish empire to American hegemony. On the 9th of august and declare their loyalty to the Spanish crown due to the American betrayal.
On the 1st of June 1905 war begins in china with Yunnan fighting the Chinese empire. The war comes to an end in November in a victory for Yunnan.
