Ok, that helps alot. Everything that can be researched is, and I have a reserve army of about 36 divisions, in cue. My navy is in port and my airforce is grounded since there is no one to oppose me. In regards to the resource problem, its not a problem, I believe I have oil and supplies in the millions.

And I have been trying to repair my infrastructure in the territories that were nuked, so that should help. I am full left, central, standing, hawk, interventionist, and authoritarian. I don't remember the ministers exactly, but I believe I have Speer as armnaments minister, and some "Werner" as minister of security. I had Jodl and Braustich in command of the armies, but I think I have to change that to Guderian for the manpower boost, and Witzleben for his defense bonus.

At the moment I have to do something to reverse the manpower situation, otherwise everything else wont even matter. Also, the partisan problem is attrocious in N. America. But at the moment I have a large Soviet Army bottled up in the Yucatan, so I can't send more units to put down the revolts. And its going to get worse, as I think the airdrop into the Caucusus is my best offensive option at the moment, and my 3 remaining paras are in N.America on anti-partisan duty.

Since winter is approaching he may decide to hold off his offensive, especially if he has a break away republic in the Caucusus, being aided by Spain. It would also provide a great base for my strat bombers to reek havoc on his interior. And another idea is maybe launching an amphibious invasion of the Ottomans, slipping my fleet into the Black Sea and gutting Asia Minor, since most if not all their divisions are in Hungary. And Italy should be able to walk into Istanbul. I can use my reserve army in cue to reduce the effect on TC and stabalize the situation in Hungary.

As soon as we play again I will let everyone know what happened, in the mean time anymore advice or comments would be appreciated. And you mentioned creating new leaders, how can I do that in the game?

I am sorry to say this but your game is rather pointless.

In HOI each leader has a death date, when a leader reaches his death date he dies at the first sight of combat. I fyou instal no time limit mod and play it to 2300 without any fighting then Guderian Manstein and the rest would live. If war would start in 2301 they would all die the moment they enter combat.

Besides your game is pointless as it shows that both of you were complete noobs when you started this. From looking at the screenshots and hearing your answers both of you made mistakes too munerous to write about. It's okay to be a noob but now armed with experience and knowledge from the forums you will have more fun starting a new game.

Besides these reasons which are more a matter of taste (maybe you enjoy this campaign - I would not) there is one gigantic practical obstacle. All non named leaders and those will be the only ones you will have are Skill 0 MJ GENERALS who can command only ONE division. This means that while attacking with 24divs you have a single div fighting at 100 & and 23 divs fighting at 25 %. However on defense this is not the same. If you have 9 divs in nine single div armies there is no penalty on defence. If you keep those nine units stacked TOGHETHER under a single mj general they will have the 75 % penalty. But as long as you keep them as 9 separate divs all divs on defence fight at 100 %. This is why he did not crush you yet with an 800 vs 250 force ratio. Both of you are in deep shit when it comes to attack. But as long as you unstack you divs static defence is at 100 % efficiency. Honestly this will be a long and boring meat grinder as no one will have the upper hand unless he finally reaches a 10 to 1 force ratio which even as the USSR would be hard to pull out.

Take just one province - or let him take one - and blast the hell out of hist troops moving there. Redo. Destroy 800 Divs. :D
Works best if u train ur bombers to exp 100.

Fear teh uber-luftwaffe

It's okay to be a noob

From a somewhat wider perspective, playing computer games is pointless. Playing them often enough to get really good at them is even more pointless. Posting about them on the Internet is particularly pointless. From a wider perspective still, life itself is pointless.

When Die Scheisse asked for advice... the advice he had in mind was not "Get a life!" or "Don't be such a Noob!"... it was advice on what to do in-game.

Practical advice is limited, though... especially if you've run almost entirely out of Leaders. Promote any remaining Leaders that you have left to the highest rank that you can. Make sure that HQ's have Generals or FMs, and include those HQs in full 9-unit or 12-unit Formations, stacked with the same number of individual 1-division formations.

Eg: FM + HQ + 11 Divisions, stacked with 12 seperate un-led 1-Division formations. That will at least give you a limited number of 24-unit stacks that are immune to the -75% Command Control penalty.

Starting a new game in 1936 might really be the most practical suggestion, though.

Hahaha, thanks Blue Emu. When it comes to the technical side of things yes I'll admit to being a noob. But when it comes to strategy and tactics I think I'm decent. I've been playing HOI since it first came out. I know exactly what to do, and I knew from the begining that leaving a human controlled russia to do what it has, then I would have trouble. Think of it as being bored with the normalcy of a game, I wanted a challenge. And one reason for being in the situation im in is symbolism. I have to make the game go the way it was historically. I was having fun, and I am having fun writing about how the game went what I should do and so on. I would agree with you that the Soviet player is a noob, because .........he has almost 800 divisions and he still hasn't crushed me! I think pulling off a victory in this game should shut ILoveSpam's mouth quite nicely. So thanks for the motivation.

Hey,I was rather nice to the original poster. Well, amybe I shouldn't underline the noob factor. "Noob" aside I think that you will find it pointless to play a game in which attack is much weaker than defense. And there is no technical possibility (apart from writing changing death dates forall dead leaders and then activate them with a new event, but I don't know whether this would influence an already running game) to make attacks work. This is why I said this game is pointless.

And by the way I had the most fun with HOI when I was learning things. When you play a 1 on 1 in multiplayer after a few tries you notice that there is practically only one path to achieve maximum force efficiency and after that the game is not as much fun. If I could I would like to forget all the experience of HOI and start from zero. At least the AI could beat me and my multiplayer Barbarossa game would not end in a fight of two vanilla infantry behemots.

Cheers and have fun with the game

And one more thing. There was nothing in my post about "Get a life" rather: you made mistakes, now you know how to avoid them, start a new game which will make sense. A game that makes sense is the on in which someone can win. Due to them playing in 1962 this game is a total stalemate because of lack of command capacity period.

BLABLABLABLABLA SHUT UP ILOVESPAM! This war has become World War 1, defense is stronger than attack, so specialoperations has to be made to break defense lines, that's way Goering Gamble, by the way Schiesse, did you do Goering Gamble? :)
