I used to play Vicky exclusively and loved a modded CSA game (nothing quite like taking the CSA to rank 1!) (never played HOI1) so my first work on TL-191 actually began there (I never released anything- vicky lacks a mod-dir facility)

Im definately going to get V:R (although Im not sure I like the idea of only promoting national POPs- my fav tactic was to fight spain and take the phillippines for its huge manpower. Haiti & Cuba was also good for manpower too although to be fair national POPs only is probably a lot more realistic)

(Side not to that- Considering in a number of cases of alternate history the CSA ends up with Cuba as a state, making them a national culture isnt probably too much of an exploit, as is mexican if you take the mexican 'CS states')

Regarding the converter, I have not heard many good things about it, so I wouldnt get your hopes up...I read some crazy stuff- Hitler the HOS for a democratic germany!! The UK with over a hundred battleships and no screens. (Considering the radical differences between Vicky and HOI2 I was always skeptical that the converter was going to be a success)

Well, you can only promote non- national pops if you have a full citizenship party in power. Its a big problem for the ruskies and japan-korea/northern China. It also can hit US immiigration hard without full citizenship.

They stay converted- you just can't change anymore.

But anyways, just downloaded the SRTDD update, will give it a test run tonight

V:R (and DD) work great with JSGME. You should try it out!

The postwar national cultures is something I'm giving a lot of thought to in both my mods. In Vicky the post-emancipation CSA treats blacks as full equals and denies citizenship to white Yankees, an odd situation, to say the least. How much farther does the "brotherhood of Southern man" extend? To Cherokee? Dakota? North Germans? Mexicans? Polynesians (in my current game)?

Never seen *that* happen with the mod before...

This does happen sometimes in DD if you annex then release a country in the same game session. I assume this is not the case here.

I also assume you're running both the current version of DD and SRTDD. If not, either of those could be to blame.

Failing that, deactivate and reactivate the mod in JSGME and try the scenario again.

Failing that, you may want to try again with a clean install of both DD 1.2 and SRTDD 2.7.

Failing that, you can deactivate the mod, copy the necessary minister files into the MODS/SRTDD/db/ministers folder, reactivate the mod, and that should do it.

Failing that...I'm out of ideas.

Sorry for the trouble. I hope one of these fixes it.

I've tried all of that, redownloaded, reinstalled, re-enabled, everything. Whenever I start the game, it looks more or less Vanilla, with only the addition of the CSA, and a changed US flag. Also, numerous countries are missing ministers. Is this correct, aside from the minister bit?

(Again, I assume you're using the current version of SRTDD. If you're using an older moddir-based version, that's the cause (moddir doesn't work well with DD).)

You should have also seen the SRTDD load screen when you started the game.

Did you download the file from savefile or filefront? HMS Enterprize posted how savefile occasionally corrupts files in download. You may want to throw out any savefile downloads you have and try again with a filefront DL (link below). Since I've not heard of this problem before, I suspect this might be the cause.

If that doesn't work, try this: Before you activate the mod, move the MODS/SRTDD/db/ministers file to another directory. Copy the unmodded Paradox Interactive/db/ministers folder in its place. Then, copy and overwrite the three moved files from MODS/SRTDD/db/ministers into it.

That should give you all the vanilla minister files in the MODS/SRTDD/db/ministers, plus the three modded ones. Activate the mod in JSGME and go.

If that doesn't work, the download almost has to be corrupted, or there's a larger issue at work I can't diagnose across the Internet.

Quick update:

Just exported my first Victoria: Revolutions game over into DD and all I can say is amazing. A few minor oddities aside, great work Paradox!

Of course, my opinion is not diminished by the fact it let me go from my V:R mod to SRTDD relatively smoothly, either.


Speaking of, the V:R "prequel" to SRTDD is now officially called "Southern Revolutions," and it should be ready for download sometime this weekend. Watch this space!

At last, all the changes originally intended for V2.7 (but derailed thanks to savefile.com) are implemented here. Enjoy!

Version 2.8
--Check out the awesome new load screen (courtesy of "Vigilante").

--Changed the CSAAF air corps names to match the British pattern.

--Added a tech team for Sequoyah, along with accompanying picture.

--Added leaders and ministers files for Seqouyah (Sorry, no pics).

--Added a picture for the CSA's Hughes Aircraft Company tech team, featuring "The Aviator" himself.

--The CSA now loses the Hughes Aircraft Company tech team if it surrenders to Germany or Mexico, or if Texas becomes independent.

--Added a 24-bit flag for Sequoyah.

--Eliminated some repetitions in the unitnames file, and fixed some typos (not mine!).

--Added brigade unit names for CSA police and engineers.
