The single thing I hate in this game are the random quests. So let’s say that I play for many hours on the Berlin map. I manage to get 82% coverage. You imagine how much planning and carefully analysis this evolves. I love my grid and I am planning my next line that should bring me close to 85% when BAM, the quest hits me! “Build a line between two (or even better - three) random, idiot points on the map”. It does not care that I already have excellent coverage in those areas. No a direct single line between!
Why, oh why, would I bother?! The cash does not matter, I have 10.000 profits a month by this time, and my network is excellent and does not need crippling with a tumor line. Instead of giving me a quest that is rewarding, I get one that I need to ignore…

I don't think it would be quite so bad if the quests weren't restricted to a single-line connection. Just that said locations are connected to the public transport network, or within say 3 transfers or each other or something.

Totally agree....I don't care about quests when they're showing me two points in the city which are already connected to the network, just not directly of course...

Me too! I said that I hate quest that restrict me to a single pointless line. As I have said in a different post, instead I would like quests to be like this:
- Get xxx connected to your network (entire network);
- Get xxx connected to bus/tram/metro;
- Have x y no longer than 3 lines away.

The quests need to be more reactive to your situation.

The only way I can make a game out of them is to save up a gigantic list and cash them in when my coffers dry out.

I really hate these mission.
When I get this kind of mission, I build a simple line with the cheapest bus available, and delete it immediately after I get the mission accomplished message.

Especially when you have to stop the lines, remove the stops from the lines, make sure it doesn't fuck everything up, reopen the line, respacing your vehicles. etc ...

I appreciate the developers trying to spice things up and make them interesting, I really do, but 90% of these objectives make no sense and they offer no reward. A few thousands is nothing.

I only complete them accidentally, never go out of my way to actually complete them. The reputation bonus is useless considering you can get it all with advertisement.

See attachment for a funny, yet pointless objective. It's 2001!

The worst ones are "Delete 3 stops". Seriously? Why the F*** would I do that for some measly 1,800 credits?

I second that. Well, you build some lines operating nicely without traffic jams and making a good amount of money, all of the sudden the "delete stops" or "delete the line going to here/there" mission pops out.
It really pisses me off (facepalm). Especially when you have long lines or lines with many stops.

I don't even want to think at this :))

I believe that quests are killing noobs in mission 1. They have no idea that quests are not helping them and that they are just messing them up. Until I learned to play the game, I had to restart mission 1 for 5-6 times.

The quest that really killed me was in one of the Amsterdam scenarios, where someone loses her kitten at the docks by the main railway station and requests that you stop ALL lines going there for a whole month. Seriously, close all lines that happen to have a stop in the vicinity of the docks (and therefore railway station)?

Just save those til the end. Finish all other missions, by then you have a healthy profit, then just use choppers to get the single line objectives. Open/close line. instant win. As for the closing stops, they aren't on a time crunch.. wait til you are going to quit and close them before quitting. Win! But yes, agreed - they are stupid in that they don't help - there are ways around it though.
