Ascension related stuff/parallel universe/alternate dimension of higher beings. I'm for some reason imaging something on the level of the Ancients/ascended beings from Stargate lore but it may be something well different.

Equally i'd love something more 40k/warp inspired mwuahaha...or well for Stelariss it'd likely be a little more event horizon.

It would likely be similar to the early moments of the Chaos Realm in the 40k universe. They'll approach as beings of infinite age and wisdom. But in reality were primordial and grew in power as the total # of sentient POPs (and their delicious psychic energies) multiplied across the galaxy. Eventually spawning the nightmares you see early/mid space age when there are trillions of individuals.

One thing is sure: if the holy Empress of Mankind took the trouble of revealing herself and take her rightful place as the leader of humanity it means that whatever is behind the shroud is either xeno, heretic or mutant in nature. And thus evil.

No. No, I won't. My species is rididulously knowledge-hungry and would love to form compacts with anything that's different from them. My RP doesn't allow me to not take any risk no matter how lethal it could be.

That sounds distinct from the "Whisperers in the Void". So if I read it correctly, it sounds like there will be a few different possible entities to form compacts, covenants, and bargains with in the Shroud.

Eh, I guess we'll find out more on Thursday.
