I forgot to ask in the DDs - but has English culture been divided? At least a culture around York? It seems odd that it'd remain homogenous in an expansion pack devoted to fleshing out Britain.

I can't be the only one trying to imagine what's going on in Rule Britannia's promotional art, the one with the guy presenting the scroll to the scowling redcoat.

"Oi m8, you'd best have a loicense for your coal-shoveling business, or it's off to the colonies with you!"
"Em, 'ere it is. Please, suh, I have a wife! I don't want to be sent to Australia!"

well here comes the problem, i dont know it feel like was it really necessary to all the British &Irish minor nations to have there own unique unit models for tier 2-4 ? like most likely you will never/(most likely not) going seem them or players and the Ai will most likely going form England or/and Great Britain, unless
i dont know i wish paradox implement something like if you hire mercenaries from let say northumbeland providence they unit models for the mercenaries will use the Northumbralnd unit model so the the unit models dont go to waste, if paradox really wants the new unit models that they gave to cornwall, desmond , Brittany, wales, etc.. to not go to waste they should make the mercenaries of the specific provindence/culture like if hire mercs from cornwall they should use cornwall units plus it makes the mercenaries more immersive

The red seems bizarre on the Cornish soldiers. Also, the flag has always seemed to be an amalgamation of Cornwall and Devon, which doesn't make much sense now that Cornwall is its own province.

At the very least, the colour scheme used for the uniforms should be Black (main) and yellow/white (auxiliary), even if the flag remains as it is. Though perhaps the flag should be changed to something more like this (some modder has probably put together something superior to me):

The only thing I'm really looking forward to in this expansion are the new mission trees.

Paradox Development Studio will release the newest add-on to the historical grand strategy classic Europa Universalis IV on March 20. Rule Britannia is an immersion pack that adds greater depth to the British Isles while adding new content for every nation including new approaches to technology and the early industrial revolution.

In Rule Britannia, players will have the chance to push their late game economy to even higher levels through the discovery of coal. Highly developed provinces in some regions will discover this precious resource, allowing rulers to build furnaces that improve goods production across the country.

Other features of Europa Universalis IV: Rule Britannia include:
  • New British Missions: Exclusive Mission Trees for England, Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain, embedded in the new Europa Universalis IV mission system (coming with the 1.25 update).
  • Innovativeness: Earn rewards for being the first nation to unlock new knowledge, including lower power costs.
  • Naval Doctrine: Adopt a general strategy for your fleets, giving you bonuses to ship maintenance, trade power or battle performance.
  • Anglicanism: A new Protestant faith can appear in England with new bonuses and religious choices.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Help your lagging allies or subjects by promoting the spread of institutions in their realms.
  • Trade Steering: Force your defeated enemies to have their merchants fill your coffers.
  • New Unit and Music Packs: Our artists and composers have new treats for Rule Britannia players, including new army designs for British and Irish nations (including Northumberland and Cornwall) as well as new music to set the mood.
Europa Universalis IV: Rule Britannia will be available in the Paradox store and on Steam on March 20 for the suggested retail price of $9.99.
I am really not fond of this DLC. 9.99€ for that seems ridiculous. First time in a long row i wont buy a DLC from Paradox.

This is really disappointing that every single place in the Isles apart from Wales has been looked at, even the Low countries and France were touched up on a DLC for Britain, but not Wales, not the nicest thing to see announced on St Davids day tbh.

One day they will make a DLC over France and its minor. I guess they think Wales is one, provided the fact Britanny and Normandy have new units in that dlc, see you there mate.

Loving the shipping-related thread titles, and looking forward to some quality Britannicing with this DLC - nice one Team PDS :).

One can hope, one can hope, just seems like Wales keeps being overlooked, especially the fact that its in the English culture group, seems like they see us as just an extension of England ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would make sense too, at the least for gameplay reasons. English culture would be huge if it's all of England. Russian and Dutch/Flemish are split up for balance, so don't see why this should be any different. Would be nice to see Cornish culture too.

Innovativeness is a terrible and clumsy name.

It does not even pass the test of being in the spelling check for your own forum.

It gets marked as misspelled.

Ingenuity or Originality would work better.

Developers,

All map changes final?

No chance of splitting Aberdeen to create Moray?

Or at least to rename West March and East March to Dumfries and Borders respectively?
