or more precisely, when does this happen. In my current game Japan are being little girls and refusing to give me blueprints for the next level of carrier tech (super-heavy or advanced super-heavy). They've given me blueprints (carrier blueprints even) before, and I know they have these particular blueprints.

In the hope of helping them against the USA I've given them all my blueprints, so now I lack anything to trade to them. Anyway, what controls when blueprints are traded and which blueprints are traded.

Flanders seemed to give me blueprints the moment they finished, but it doesn't seem to be the case with Japan. I can always just reload as Japan, but it would be nicer if we actually shared information like good friends ought.

I guess I could always just wipe them off the face of the map for their impertinance, India has been over-run now, so I don't really need their help anymore.

A related question:
As Japan, I've puppeted Nationalist China, partly to give me an infinite supply of free Infantry and as a research-machine for my my imperialist dreams.

Relations are at 200 and I know they have at least 100 $.

I throw free blueprints at them to keep them high-tech (so that they'll give me better blueprints).

But... I get nothing. I can't even buy blueprints from them, let alone get anything for free. Anyone have any idea why, and what I can do about it? I'm considering re-conquering the bastards and keeping them this time, but given their new high-tech army that would be quite a task...

GraaEminense: I believe the problem is that NatChi is coded to hate you forever, so conquering them again would yield little. The F12 "acceptall" cheat, however, would coax them into being a little more giving...

Neoptolemus: You have to be careful with giving away the blueprints for nothing. You can probably buy them with some resources that you have; you're not limited to just trading blueprints for blueprints. Also, you can make use of the F12 cheat, too. The game's AI does not recognize "You gave me X before for free, so now I'm going to return the favor and give you Y." Each time you ask them for something, they want something in return, regardless of how kind you've been to them.

Thanks.
Time to load as NC, I think.

if you're considering that, I'd definitely rather recommend the aforementioned acceptall cheat, it's *much* cleaner.

acceptall

offer deal

switch off acceptall (by typing it again in the F12 screen)

Thanks for the heads-up, haven't learned the cheats.

But when a country that exists on my sufferance screws me over... I guess the 'cleanest' thing to do would be to find an older savegame and re-conquer them immediately when it turns out Chang Kai-Chek is an ungrateful git :p

This is correct. Nat China has Japan on their "do not trade" list. Which makes perfect sense... until Japan puppets them. The CDCP mod has fixed this problem (I think). Install the mod, it's more of a patch, as only errors in the databases are fixed.
