On May 28th I begin researching nukes. Seems like a dead end to me but it sure seems to please everyone else. I need to research a lot more to come close to getting a nuke. Thankfully though my techs are almost maxed out in every other field.
On May 29th I come under attack by American mechanized and armored units. Despite defending with more than a 2:1 ratio I am obviously losing. However I decide to let the battle continue as long as possible before retreating.
Unfortunately I wait a little too long, and much to my disbelief almost all of my units retreat NORTH to certain doom. All units that retreated north are doomed. I lose 5 IJA divisions, with the other being Asian allied forces. OMG SUXZOR!!11!1
When my fleet returns for the second evacuation they find only 6 divisions able to be evacuate. The rest are destroyed by their foolishness up north. I return to Japan with those 6 divisions and officially write off the rest of the divisions in China, and my Asian allies. Overall I lose around 20 easily saved divisions just because I kept my units in battle for one hour too much. Never will I rely on auto retreat in these situations again, as it has an obvious pro AI bias.
In Beijing my allies give a half hearted defense of the urban city, and lose soon afterwords.
Chaos reigns supreme in China, and I couldn't control the situation there even if I wanted to. The Americans are in complete control of the region and it is simply a matter of mopping up the disorganized and demoralized Chinese and Japanese divisions remaining. It is truly a pathetic end to Japanese dominance of the region.
In the midst of all this chaos the Americans annex Manchukuo. I knew they would be annexed eventually, but I never thought it would be the Americans that would do it. I always thought it would be the Soviets. In fact they only took one province from Manchukuo for themselves. I never thought they would be gone this early when I started this game either. Oh well, they were pretty worthless allies anyway.
As you can see for yourselves, the situation in China is hopeless. Ha, so much for retaking Korea!

@Duke of Wellington: Yes I am particularly fearful of their powerful navy.
@MIG-15: Exactly what I'm thinking!
@anonymous4401: That is pretty funny, in my game I have pretty much been cleansed of any allied divisions. Not that I really want them anyway, they're mostly all rubbish.
@General Jac: Actually I agree completely, especially since I've pretty much eliminated their ability to land divisions. I'll get more into that later though.
@kami888: Here is my reasoning for abandoning all the Phillipines except Luzon: It's pointless. Only Luzon has anything of value that I want, and this way I can consilidate power in one area and hold it indefinitely. If I try to hold every island I run the risk of getting divisions destroyed or cut off and losing all of the Phillipines including Luzon. Also this way if worse comes to worse I can quickly evacuate all my divisions back to the Home Islands. It just makes more sense to me than holding every pointless island. It still diverts Allied troops also.
@Alex S. : Spot on!
@Exterous: Currently in my game I am spending all extra IC on upgrading my current divisions. There are no current builds, though I plan on building forts in key provinces and building more naval vessels when the time comes. My research is pretty much current as shown in the tech screen in this update.
@Sir Kenny: Exciting even.
@Gigalocus: Oil is not out yet, and surprisingly going strong. And of course I can do it, or die trying!1!!1!
