I notice that my colonisation effort as Austria got God's blessing since we received a COT in Bourbon. :D

As AUS owned 3 COTs before that and had 8.8 merchants per year without monos in these three COTs this 4th COT is crucial. It means AUS will get one merchant each month as long as they keep the mono in 3 out of 4 COTs.

k i propose the following

we edit out all wars with spain give people wat they wan't so the new perm can start clean out of the war

or we don't do anything and risk new player not wanting to play spain or running it in the ground

current demands i know of

andalusia to port
italian provs to austria
ganges to dutch
cuba+ a few extra colonise in carrib to sweden (just a bunch of worthless islands for spain)

total loss

This is fair because Alexius wouldn't negotiate with anyone and played very ruthlessly making everyone mad at him, and brought this gang on his own head. Further, the demands here are very reasonable and Spain will continue to be a top 2 or 3 economic power after meeting them - they are a negligible economic blow for this super state. So, yeah, sounds good. Now to find someone to take the Spanish seat.

May be this peace agreement violate rule 6

6. No more than four territories can be taken per country in any single war versus a player. If territories are taken by an alliance the limit is six.

Unfortunately this rule isn't further defined. You can it understand how this rule is defined in "You've got to die for the government". Then the peace agreement is considerably to high.

7. Max 6 provinces may be gained by an alliance in a war by the opposing alliance. However, there's a max of 3 per nation. (So a single nation peacing is max allowed to take 3 provinces.) An alliance is defined as any number of nations fighting a common enemy at the same time. A war is defined as a period of warfare followed by at least 5 years of peace (to prevent immediate DOWs on struck down enemy after one alliance peaced). A CoT counts twice on limit. As does a gold province. If there's a disagreement between the countries in an alliance about who will get what as a fair split as possible needs to be made. (3/3 provs if two nations disagreeing, 2/2/2 if three disagreeing, 1/1/1/1 if four nations can't agree (they're not allowed to take more than their share rounded downwards after all). For more follow same pattern. However if for example 3 nations agree there's nothing preventing them taking 4/1/1 or similar.

And I would prefer if we adopt this definition because it close a gab how the rule can be bypassed and lower the crushing effects of gang-bangs.

I accept peacing now as long as the other wars are edited out so that everyone can DOW again as soon as Austria peaces. Anyway, I would expect the new perm would be more reasonable than the old one, and that this discussion is moot. Have to get someone else in the seat to settle it.

And note, prov limits have changed. Look back a couple pages. Colonies are now worth a lot less.

In principle I am against prov limits because especially after this gang I think the GM should be able to discern when gangs are punishment for diplomatic blunders more than the fault of the gangers.

So you think this gang-bang is a punishment for diplomatic faults which Alexius made?

Yes. Here's a quick recap.

Alexius agreed to a 20 year NAP with the NL, and within a year, took Ganges which had revolted from me... even as my ships arrived off the coast of Bengal. Prior to our long war refused to consider selling New Amsterdam (Amsterdam!) back to the Dutch, destroying the good will long years of co-operation against the English had created.

Previously he fought wars with Austria eliminating any goodwill the Hapsburgs might have towards each other.

Refused to let Portugal have a COT in South America.

Claimed all of North America for himself threatening France's colonies.

Did nothing that I know of for any other player that would create goodwill that has not long since been destroyed by his aggressive expansionism.

Right, but when Austria had a perm player (Pibe) at the beginning, Pibe even complained that Spain wouldn't talk to him or collaborate with him at all. Then they actually fought a few wars. Austria now has Elijah as a perm, and my guess was if Alexius had tried he could have gotten Elijah on side. However, this obviously didn't happen.

I would have been interested to take up the mantle as Spain if it were not for the fact that Sweden plays mighty Trinidad in the world's most greatest sports event next Saturday at 18.00 CEST.
