The first Sunday I am available for start is 10th of July. Who in the current lineup can't make this?

Will Battlefront be done by then?

Battlefront is currently in the year 1756. Thus at least 3 perhaps 4 sessions left.

But the game has begun to experience difficulties. Quitting etc forced a postponement of the session last Sunday.

I am beginning to fear for that game. When problems start it is my experience (short as it is) that the rats start leaving the ship... Players will e.g. much more often just say they cannot play a certain day than they would early in a campaign. And they show no signs of getting subs themselves, they leave that to the GM and the rest of the gang. While early on they are very eager to get a good sub who can handle their nation well.

All very sad.

Which is why I specifically want players I can trust as regards to being there.

Of course, admitting Holistic Dog into the game already broke that rule. o

Although i traditionaly hate the 1419 scenario ive started to become nostalgic about it. Have some fond memorys 1520 is certainly best balanced though.

1419 combat is Boooooring.

1520 is balanced.

1492 is less so. I could live with a 1492 start though.

Although, i work every fifth sunday the whole summer till 31 aug.
And i'm away for atleast two weeks in July.

So if you plan to start Juni/july it's probably not a good idea for me to sign up. :/

Uniting Scandinavia from the start is like uniting Russia or Southern Germany or the Middle East from the start. It's ahistorical and a fair bit unbalancing (I'd hate to Brandenburg in such a setup), and frankly I don't see any reason for it.

As for when we start, if we need to wait in order to have the players, let's wait. If we don't, let's not.

I won't be able to start until the 10th of July at the soonest. When in July will you be away? Will you play from your hosting computer during the summer?

There won't be a Brandenburg in this setup, with most probability. This will give Austria free reign in northern germany which I'm sure you'd love if you play Austria.

I don't agree that it is unbalancing. It doesn't matter that it's ahistorical.

That said, it's certainly up for discussion.

I am well aware of the fact, and I may have jumped the gun telling him he can play.

HoG: You don't exactly have a history of dependability.

Mulliman suggests 1492 for start date.

1492 has some merit, for sure. Colonial scene is more open, for one.

Then again, Mulli only has a slightly better record than HoG when it comes to showing up and staying in the game, so his word should perhaps not count all that much.

Edit: To which end, I've cut out the maptrading rule. The rest of the rules basically boil down to "Don't be an asshole"

No vassals whatsoever. Exceptions could be made for high centra countries (8-10).

I just don't like the idea of countries like OE and Russia gaining huge amonuts of manpower through vassals.

The reason I put Tonio in England is that I want him somewhere that he can't do too much damage.

Regardling colonization.

I'm leaning towards removing historical explorers. This in order to give everyone a fair shot at the colony game.

Historical conquistadors could stay in to give historical colonial nations an edge. Russia regardlessly needs them.
