We COULD go without an Austria, or even with a Destiny-esque Spain. I am not averse to going zany with this scenario. I think we've all played long enough to not be too picky about that...

Well, since noone else steps forward I can do it: VanEngel is a great guy, a skilled player and from my experience medium to good in reliability.

Cant sweden just annex denmark AI? I think its a bit generous giving sweden all of denamrk from start. I think most people would actually. Hard to see the justification for it.

What on earth does it matter if you weaken or strengthen a nation before start? All know about it. Before the game starts the only relevant variable is the enjoyment of the game .
IMO all changes of the kind Slargos suggests bring a new flavour to the game and we all want new challenges, to keep the game alive and thus keep it enjoyable. Thus kudos to Slargos.
If it would make a nation unplayable or so strong that it would smash all its opponents in a few decades I could understand but you do not state that as support for your view. And rightly so since there is no risk for this because of the change.
