Welcome to Resistance!

Good post, though I didn't trust your predecessor, and I therefore still regard you with some heavy suspicion. My apologies if I'm wrong. But this is what I expect to see from a reasonable player, regardless of role.

I'm glad that my post didn't change your opinion of me. One thing that's the same between Resistance and WW Lites is information disparity. In other words, one side (the wolves/spies) knows what side everyone is on while the other side (village/resistance) only knows what side they're on. Therefore it's a lot easier for spies to be trusting of someone (because they know if they're trusting a resistance member and thus gaining goodie points) than for a resistance member (since they're never quite sure if they are putting their trust in a spy). So this naturally makes resistance members a tad more paranoid about trusting people than spies. If you were willing to buy that I was a resistance member from that little post then I'd find you highly suspicious. But I still hope you can trust me to pick a good team.

Gut feelings and assumptions.

Feel free to reject my proposal even I get in right team without spies in it...

Do you think that you are cleared just by saying you are resistance or alxeu was? Makes me suspicious.

I know I´m resistance.

Please point to where I said I was cleared for claiming resistance.

Also wait a second. WAIT A SECOND. OBJECTION! In your last post you said Tamius was the most likely spy, yet you are currently approving this team! Why the hell are you approving a team with someone who you think is a spy on it? Are you trying to lose the game?

There's a pretty major difference still though, in that in the Resistance, you *rarely* get to know someone's role with certainty until the end of the game, unlike in Werewolf where a lynch or hunt later you can just say "Ha, told you!" to everyone. That kind of building up trust happens more in the form of, say, approving good missions, because *that* is something you can point at and shout. But what's the difference? A passed mission is a huge point in the resistance' favor. Therefore, the choice here is a much harder and more significant one, and you'll often find spies sticking by their spymates against certain resistance members, at least till the late game.

That's the beauty of the resistance.

I am going to leave myself out of the team, because all the distrust and going to propose following team...

That's a... weird proposal.

Before we proceed, Happycats, what would your proposal be? Rejecting the fifth proposal causes a game over and a spy victory, so once you get to the fourth proposal it really stops being a question of "Do I like this team or not?" and instead becomes "Do I like this team more or less than the other one?"

Very true to your first paragraph. I'll keep that in mind.

And my proposal would be myself, tamius, and madchemist.

Also, reject. I don't trust Dex and don't want him to have the ability to vote twice. He was approving a team that he believed had a spy on it. At best he's a resistance member not paying attention to the game. At worst he's a spy. Either way I don't want him to have that much sway in voting.

However, I don't actually mind this team all that much. I think Arky is the most likely spy from the first mission so this mission is probably spy free, but I just don't trust Dex and don't think he should have the extra vote.

Just to remind everybody of the Gamma Mission:
Aedan,
Arkasas,
Tamius,
Madchemist.
One of whom is a spy

So theoretically, The proposal from Dexander has about as good a chance of passing as any mission. Unfortunately, I'd say that Dexander's recent posts, especially his approval, and subsequent switch after being caught out, make me like him as a spy. So I don't think I'd trust any of his proposals. Since aedan is seemingly untrusted, and MC is seemingly trusted, while happycats seems like a wild card, I'd say that, on balance, Dex is a spy, and at least one of the team members here is a spy. Of course, I'm thinking that all three team members here will reject, I'd think it odd if aedan approved at this point, but I'll give HC some goodie points for coming outright and rejecting it, when he could have played newb inexperience and blindly forwarded the mission.

Just to remind everybody of the Gamma Mission:
Aedan,
Arkasas,
Tamius,
Madchemist.
One of whom is a spy

So theoretically, The proposal from Dexander has about as good a chance of passing as any mission.

What? That's not even remotely true. We know there is 1 spy in the group you mentioned, and 2 spies in the group of four who didn't go on the mission. In theory any two from the first and 1 from the second is as likely to work as 3 from the first, which is as close to truth as your post gets. However, the issue is that dexander is not on the team. Which means, if he's resistance than happycats only has a 1/3 chance to be a spy, less than the 50/50 from Tamius and arkasas, all else being equal. And if dexander is not resistance than this all goes out the window anyways, since spies have no need for probability, they know who is spy and who is resistance. So this is overall a pretty poor team, even though I'm on it. Though the problem is Happycats proposes the next mission and he wants to propose the same team, but with Tamius instead of me.

Things to note: No one besides Madchemist has really commented on Arkasas' odd posts, though happycats seems to be reacting to them. And Arkasas himself has just popped into the thread to say happycats is a likely spy for suspecting arkasas, which is a move not beneficial to the resistance.

Overall I like this team, but with it coming from dexander I'm wary. Is he a resistance member who still isn't thinking his actions through? Is he a spy trying to get a mate on a team, most likely happycats, which means they're getting a sabotage no matter what? Or his he trying to cast suspicion on those on the team, by proposing a good team, that will be rejected due to its source? That seems far too clever for him though. I want to approve it, since I know happycats team can't be better, but if they're both doomed, then I become the obvious scapegoat. Will think on this more.

I hear you. The point is that this is not necessarily a bad team, perhaps even a good one, but I don't trust Dexander, so I'm wary of it. Hence my rejection.

Doesn't this proposal make aedan an even more likely spy?

Maybe. Or happycats. (Or arguably me, except that I know that's impossible.)

Not if Dexander is resistance.

And there's that possibility too. Which I'm still seriously considering, against my better judgment.

You wouldn't happen to actually know that he is, would you?

Reject

Why do I feel all of a sudden that these last couple posts from you sound spyish? Am I just that paranoid? Am I thinking properly at midnight?

Though I still don't trust Dex. Or happycats. Or anyone else, really. :(

I'm bewildered by that too. Dex hasn't seemed the type to use complicated gambits of that sort, so my guess is he's a spy and you or happycats is as well, or else he's Resistance and is honestly trying to pick what he thinks is the best possible team, given that nobody wants him on it. And I'm still leaning fairly strongly toward the former, but I'm confused enough that I'm a lot less certain than I was.

Also, I think from your perspective, whatever you are, it makes sense to approve this. I won't suspect you any more or less if you do.

I hear you. The point is that this is not necessarily a bad team, perhaps even a good one, but I don't trust Dexander, so I'm wary of it. Hence my rejection.

Looking at it, the most questionable parts to me are Happycats and aedan, both of whom I don't have a good read on. I'm simply stating that, theoretically, this could be a good team. I don't have the time or experience to analytically tell whether or not aedan or HC or you are spies. Despite this, my lack of any trust in Dexander right now sadly means that there is no way I would approve this mission. I'm fairly certain somebody on the mission is a spy.
