Sorry if I've missed this, but what are the requirements for switching to Tanistry and Ultimogeniture?
When I personally choose to declare independence as a feudal lord, what happens to my well-upgraded merchant Family Villa? It vanishes or would some other dynasts take it over?
Pretty steep penalty from the overlord's POV, no? Are the bonus trading posts making up for it? Or are Patricians so extra wealthy by nature that its actually a good deal?

I think stuff gets added to Steam at noon (12:00) USET. That's 17:00 CET (I think)
tanistry requires celtic or scottish culture, ultimogeniture pagans only it would seem :/
The only way I see ultimogeniture pop up in the laws is if I use the console to switch to tengri. Since tengri isn't playable I assume there must be another way to access it that I haven't noticed.
Looks like there's a count in Pisa that's also a Patrician. For those of you unsure if you want to purchase the DLC, it might be a way to let you preview some of the republic mechanics.
My game says that the Republic is available, but steam sends me to Steam homepage. Should I wait till California wakes up?
FYI, even though The Republic is not yet released, you CAN play as a Patrician. Republic of Pisa has a vassal count who is a patrician... start with him

I have got it running of GG. Looks good. However I am having problems opening up the Trade Posts.

steam usually updates these things at 10am PST, 1pm EST, and therefore 6pm GMT. We've got 3 hours, though sometimes CK2 DLC has been known to drop slightly earlier than that.
I was wondering because of some of the dev responses.... Since a republic can become feudal but not the other way around, and also be wiped out in various other ways, how do new merchant republics come into existence?
If I am playing as a Pisan patrician or Doge, conquer Latium, and annex/usurp the title, if I make Latium my primary does it make me a duke, or does it make me doge of Latium? Also, just played about 10 min as the Pisan count, I attacked rome to get its cities and I noticed that cities are conquered almost instantly now compared to Bishopforics and Baronys. Is that intended?
