Who knows? :p

Ah, so that's how the Reich lived on.

Lol, so much for trustworthy aliens. :p

The Reich might be in trouble with this war with the Pelx.

Chapter 71

Carl Humann wiped away the sweat on his forehead as he worked with his fellow archaeologists. They had worked long and hard over the eight years with much unearthed in a remote part of the Ottoman Empire. They were just finishing up with what numerous German historians determined to be the Pergamon Altar. The finding had already made Carl famous in Germany and he was eager to head back home to enjoy the glory.

With his team, Carl was just finishing unearthing the foundation of the altar when he heard a shout from one of his men. There was much excitement in that direction as many other men gathered around. Unable to contain his curiosity, Carl ran over to see what got everybody so excited. After all their findings, this had to be quite impressive if it could get the interests of so many of his men who were working hard.

The men moved aside for Carl to arrive at the finding. The archaeologist stood in shock as he stared at the object partially unearthed. He had seen many artifacts in the past from the ancient Greeks but the object was unlike anything he had seen before. Unsure what they had uncovered, Carl ordered his men to unearth it completely before putting it in a safe place to be investigated later.

The news was also relayed back home where the German authorities discussed how they should deal with this matter. They might have uncovered the object but they knew nothing about when the object was from. They responded to Carl that the item should remain under secrecy and heavy surveillance until they knew what to do with it. The archaeologist doubted he would get a response anytime soon.

A week later, Carl suddenly got a message that requested him to send the object back to Berlin at once. The urgency wasn't lost on the archaeologist who wondered what he unearthed this day. When he returned to Berlin and asked about the object, Carl discovered that most people didn't know of it and the few who do refused to share anything. He was also told to swear to secrecy if he knew what was good for him.

So the object has been in German hands for quite some time before teleporting some men out at the end of WW2. Thats an interesting development indeed.

Carl doesn't have to deal with horrific traps and I don't think he is as terrified of snakes. :p

So the object has been in German hands for quite some time before teleporting some men out at the end of WW2. Thats an interesting development indeed.

Well, it's not quite like that. :p

I hope to keep it that way while making sure the plot makes sense. :p

Chapter 72

Akilina and Marc picked the ship closest to them but, when they entered into the ship with haste due to the growing blaze behind them, they were shocked to see they weren't alone in the ship. The strangers were wearing armor that completely disguised who they were and they were also armed. Yet, they weren't aiming the weapons at them and, instead, gestured them to take a seat on the bench across from them.

Feeling the heat from the blaze by then, the duo decided that they were better sitting down and accepted their fate with these strangers. There were few ways worse than being burned alive and neither of them wanted to go down that route. It certainly didn't hurt that the strangers weren't shooting at them which was the intent of the Pelx guards serving under Qyit. Their fate would lie in the hands of these strangers.

The ship took off as soon as they were seated but the duo still lost their balance during the takeoff. Soon, the ship was in space and one of the strangers took off her helmet. The duo was shocked to see a human face staring back them with a smile. The person introduced herself as Fan and said that it was an honor to have met the two. She explained that they would be heading back to Earth right this moment.

The person beside Fan took off her helmet and Akilina could see uncanny resemblance between the two. Fan introduced the other woman as her younger sister, Fei. The sisters went on to chat with the duo while the other members of their team, still wearing their helmet for secrecy, headed to the cockpit. Fan apologized saying that her team members were a bit shy when it came to humans.

Apparently, Fan's team learned of the capture of the Soviets aboard the Nobel only a few hours ago and they hastily put together a plan and team to rescue them. Sadly, only Akilina and Marc were saved because the other scientists were already dissected for the biological tests the Pelx scientists had in mind. The leader of the team who was in the cockpit would later update them more on why they rescued the duo.

Chapter 73

Mikhail rubbed his head after he heard the transmission from an unidentified ship. He was curious when he was told that he needed to hear the transmission so he decided to give it a chance. Normally, unknown transmissions never reached him since the specialists needed to first determine the source first. They could never be too careful now that they came in contact with some alien lifeforms in space.

When signal with the Nobel ended abruptly, the Soviets could only assume that something happened to the ship. They couldn't do anything regarding the ship since the last known location was vague at best. Their technology hadn't been developed enough to pinpoint the exact point of the missing ship, not that they mapped out enough of their galaxy to launch any sort of rescue mission even if they did.

Once he finished listening to it, he literally returned to his office to vented out all the emotions he built up within him over the time he separated with his wife. Hearing the voice of Akilina was something he yearned for but dared not think about for a long time. The transmission also confirmed their worst fears about the Nobel with only his wife and Marc surviving the encounter with the Pelx alien lifeforms.

According to the transmission, Mikhail knew that his reunion with Akilina would be happening within an hour. Their stolen ship was already in the Sol Star System and the sensors on Earth could already detect their arrival. Looking forward to seeing his wife again, Mikhail decided to head back home to change into proper clothes so the two of them could have a nice dinner to celebrate this occasion.

Just as he was leaving his office, Mikhail was surprised to see several of his top officials waiting outside with grim expressions. He looked at them puzzled until one of them stepped forward. The man said another transmission was received and the source was unknown. Mikhail listened but all he could hear was rubbish he didn't understand. From the expression of his officials, it was clear they had a hunch this wasn't a good thing.

Chapter 74

Klaus woke up groggily as someone was shaking him awake. Once his eyes were focused, he could see Katarina standing beside his bed. It took him a moment to realize she was wearing battle armor. As he sat up from his bed, Klaus saw the others putting on their battle armor as well as though they were heading into battle. Before he could ask for clarification, Katarina shoved a set of battle armor into his arms.

There was urgency in her eyes and, since he trusted her with his life, he quickly donned on the battle armor hastily. He then joined the others in the hanger where a ship was powered on. The pilots inside was doing some final checks before they were taking off. As all the Germans in the facility boarded the ship, Katarina handed them weapons which they attached to their battle armor.

Once everyone was accounted for, the German warship took off from the facility with the pilots taking her towards a predetermined destination. When Klaus turned to Katarina for answers, she briefly mentioned the Pelx who were reported to have attacked the headquarters of the Fourth Reich. They were also destroying the various outposts and a few settlements as though they were determined to wipe out the Fourth Reich.

He got the impression that the Pelx might be targeting their facility soon which explained the urgency of their evacuation. However, he had no clue where they were headed if all territory of the Fourth Reich was targeted by the Pelx invasion. The fact that their facility was discovered by the alien race must mean no single Fourth Reich territory would be spared destruction. He asked Katarina where they were headed.

After a brief pause, Katarina admitted that they could only return to planet Earth. The mention of their home got the attention of all the Germans aboard the ship. Katarina argued that Earth was probably the safest place they could head for. The Pelx might have filled the Soviets with lies following the small ambush on the Soviet Nobel but she firmly believed that the document Klaus had in possession would help them convince the Soviets to shelter them.

You're only paranoid if people aren't out to get you. Speaking of, I don't trust Katarina either. She knows more than she says.

Oh dear, I guess we cannot trust anyone. :p

Well, they also have intelligence that could help the Soviets. :)

Chapter 75

Mikhail shouted for his men to relay his orders at once. The stolen ship taken by Akilina's group had been under pursuit of Pelx ships which weren't hesitating to shooting them down. The Soviet fleet wasn't impressive by any means but it was sufficient to take on what the Pelx sent to kill Akilina. The only issue was that the stolen ship was still a few hours from Earth and the Pelx ships were closing right as they spoke.

The overlord of the Soviet Republic didn't know if he could handle losing Akilina again. He nearly lost it the first time he thought she was dead. If he had to go through the ordeal again, Mikhail was certain he would rather commit suicide than suffer the pain a second time. He could only watch on the screen showing the distance between the entire Soviet fleet and Akilina's ship closing so slowly.

Minutes after he learned about the swarm which was threatening his entire galaxy, Mikhail learned a distress call was sent by the stolen ship as its passengers only just learned that the Pelx weren't letting them go so easily. Mikhail was willing to sacrifice his entire fleet if he could get his wife back and, while his advisors were working under cooler heads, they could see that, regardless of what happened this day, they would have to fight the Pelx since the alien race declared war on them.

Watching the slow progress of his ships on the screen, Mikhail was getting impatient but he restrained himself knowing the pilots were already pushing their corvettes to their limits. Then, one of the operators reported that an unknown ship just suddenly appeared out of nowhere near the stolen ship. Moments later, the signal of all the ships in the area, whether friendly or hostile, simply disappeared.

Everyone in the Soviet headquarters was confused as to what happened. Unless a weapon shot down all the ships at once, they couldn't possibly have lost contact with all of them. The Soviet First Fleet still had an hour before they could reach the last known location of the ships. For many like Mikhail, he knew they would arrive too late to save anyone, though they might find out what happened.

Tension is mounting. Will the soviets and germans set aside their differences to face the common foe. Will the agalaxy unite against an extraterrestrial invasion bigger than the pelx threat? What have our escapees discovered other than the fact that the pelx dont like them?

So many questions but there's only so much I can show in a single chapter. :p

Things won't be so black and white as you will learn shortly. :)

Chapter 76

The young woman entered the room where the others were already discussing among themselves. Upon seeing her arrival, the leader of the group walked to the front of the room before a screen showing much of the galaxy they were in. He pointed as the outer edge of the galaxy and explained that that swarm was expected to arrive at that point. He said they must prepare their defenses at once.

Everyone turned their attention to another screen in the room displaying the overall progress of their factories. To fight the swarm, they needed their own fighting force which, sadly, was insufficient for what they aimed to accomplish. Luckily, they had a single task of delaying the swarm until the alien artifacts were gathered. They could only hope those in possession and on their side could do exactly that.

Contact hadn't been made with those they suspected to have some of the artifacts but that wouldn't last long once the swarm sent its scouting forces. According to the intelligence gathered, those in possession weren't very advanced and could easily be destroyed by the scouting forces. The young woman was tasked with leading a significant force to aid the defenses while the others were to prepare slowing the advances of the swarm.

While the young woman was honored to be tasked with the defenses of the humans, she was also reluctant to say goodbye to her friends who she fought alongside for so long. Their mission of slowing the swarm advances basically meant they weren't expected to survive the engagement unless a miracle happened. Like her, they were willing to sacrifice their lives if their efforts could finally end the swarm.

They might all be humans but they came from different galaxies. Their homes were gone because the swarm invaded their galaxies so all of them knew the horrors and the pain brought about by the swarm invasion. A brilliant yet risky plan was hatched during one of those invasions and, for these humans, they were preparing the final stages of the plan. The rise or fall of the swarms would depend on their performance and a lot of luck.

So the artifacts are the best bet at fighting the swarm, and the Soviets aren't as advanced as who I assume are the Fourth Reich... Fantastic. The Space Nazis have better tech and the Soviets, the ones with some of the desperately needed tools, are going to be stomped.
