So, I changed my work availability so that I'll Thursdays off, starting at the beginning of April(that is the day we've decided to play on now, right?). And is that about the time we're aiming to start? First week of April?

I think the religions can remain as they were proposed in Mats draft, aside from the stab bonuses which would be raised considerably for everyone, and the religion that recieved the sole stab bonus originally should get something different. I'm thinking an extra two or three merchants.

Morale for all except orthodox would be lowered to -40 also, with orthodox morale at -20, so as to prevent morale from maxing later in the game.

Looks like you can also pick Muslim religions, and I know John's said he wanted to be Confucian.

I'll get to work on the various edits (changing MAM to EGY, adding religions, etc.) later. I would like some confirmation that the religion stats in the linked post are in fact what we want to go with.

After that, the only thing left to do is monarchs, and again, that's up to Mats/John. Otherwise I'll just stick some placeholders in.

Mats has his program for the monarchs as he has said, TC, which as I understand will randomly mete out monarch stats but in an overall equal fashion.

On religions, I'm thinking that we might want to scale back the morale bonus for orthodox religion to ten instead of twenty.

I've a thought on the DP setup as well. I think we ought to bring everyone down to 0 in all of the things that it is obviously better to move to the right in, such as quality, offensive, centralization, and innovativeness. 9 for the things which are better to have at the lowest level, such as aristocracy and serfdom. Mercantilism can go either way, so I'd leave it in the middle.

I think we're governing how far you can go in inno and serfdom based on how many FAAs you have anyway. However, having these other things also set in this fashion will allow everybody to customize their country in an interesting way. We won't all, after 150 years, end up with so many of the same DP sliders. If we start at the bottom, it'll take a long time to get everything where you want it- perhaps a whole campaign, so your dp click decisions will always be a matter of prioritizing one thing over another, and will result in much variety as players choose to take different avenues.

id like to be buddishm if you give it the same bonus as catholicism btw otherwise ill go catholicism


if you do it that way we should start with full serfdom not full freedom john,since you wanted stab to be a non-issue and if we have shitty stabcosts and low morale all arround then free subjects is not a bad choise

I actually am fine with Mats draft, except stab costs which of course will be much different, and the same across the board, and the morale bonus which I think should go to 10 instead of 20. So as far as I'm concerned, this is basically it, with the baseline morale at -30 and orthodox's morale at -20, and whatever value it is for the stab bonus that will cut the costs down to about a fourth.

I've made a new version of the religion.csv, based on suggestions aired here along with some thoughts of my own:

In case you are not familiar with what these numbers do, I'll give a quick explanation: Trade and Production values are simple: they are just added to the total amount of TE/PE your nation has.
Techspeed means that 0.02 is added/subtracted from a modifier applied to the base cost of a tech. Thus, 10 means 20% reduced costs, -5 means 10% increased costs. This effect does not always apply though, I refer you to the economy FAQ for details.
Stab bonus means that 1% of the number is subtracted from the cost of every province. Those costs are hard-coded and different to Christians and non-Christians. 1200 means -12 cost per province, 300 means -3. For a same-religion province, the base cost is 25, so mono-religious Catholics cut their costs in half in our game.
The morale is simply added to total army morale.

Buddhism and CRC are zeroed out and shouldn't be used. Pagan is for ROTW and Hinduism for non-player Europe.

Changes:
Made Sunni a bit less boring, now with some tech+stab+trade advantage.
Upped Protestantism PE, based on observations from last game. In 1559, Sweden earned 1200 from trade while France earned 400 from production. In 1641, Spain earned 860 from production while Sweden had 1800 from trade.
Following that, I reduced trade bonus slightly to 12.
Catholicism made a bit stronger.


Monarchs:
I can generate those at any time. The easiest way is to give me a scenario file (.eug) and I can then write the monarchs into it with simple copy+paste from my generated list.

I've a thought on the DP setup as well. I think we ought to bring everyone down to 0 in all of the things that it is obviously better to move to the right in, such as quality, offensive, centralization, and innovativeness. 9 for the things which are better to have at the lowest level, such as aristocracy and serfdom. Mercantilism can go either way, so I'd leave it in the middle.

I think we're governing how far you can go in inno and serfdom based on how many FAAs you have anyway. However, having these other things also set in this fashion will allow everybody to customize their country in an interesting way. We won't all, after 150 years, end up with so many of the same DP sliders. If we start at the bottom, it'll take a long time to get everything where you want it- perhaps a whole campaign, so your dp click decisions will always be a matter of prioritizing one thing over another, and will result in much variety as players choose to take different avenues.
I disagree about some of the sliders.

Aristocracy is much better than Plutocracy for the first 100 years of the game, due to ease of diplo-annexing and bribing AI (minor), faster bb reduction (medium) and cheaper cavalry (major). Pluto only becomes better once the PE/TE bonuses start to matter, and it takes at least 70-80 years to develop that trade/prod cost. I suggest having this slider at no more than 7, preferably 5. It still makes good sense to move Aristo in the early years of the game.

Why are we also regulating the Free Subjects slider? The fact that Serfdom allows 50% off from stab costs that we already have reduced makes it a sad option already. Maxing Free Subjects might become a no-brainer, but since we also have to make the 30 offensive/quality/centra no-brainer moves, it won't matter. I think that Inno can keep its regulation, but we should not regulate Free Subjects also.

Other than that, I think the setup is good.

you forgot to add stability bonus to everybody else exept catholicism
give everybody 600 vs catho 1200 at the very least

also confusion is weak vs the boosted reformed/prot/catholics
there is also no reason why buddism should be left out tbh if we alow confusion ect

also johns point is that we have to make choises, if you give everybody 5/5 serfdom & aristo then all we will be doing is go centra/offensive/quality for most of the game
if we have maxed aristo & serfdom we have slightly more options and it will create somewhat unique sliders for people even if most wil stil go offensive atstart


we will need max aristo at the start badly if you dont edit the ai sliders tbh, they will have fairly insane morale vs us wich will make it quiete a challenge
