I noticed some weird stuff happening with holy wars, I'm not sure if it's intended but when I win a holy war I gain the cities/bishoprics but the county itself stays under the control of the Sheikh that controlled it. Also, I'm unable to declare holy war for some provinces, only weird ducal claims that I don't even possess. I'm using version 2.9b. Also, the vanilla game seems to be working fine in that regard. I can get some screenshots if you need them.

Same thing happened to me, its weird when you go against a duke level pagan/Muslim whose realm is more then his duchy and does not hold the second duchy's title, for example playing as duke of Portucale in my case, I declare a holy war (strangely I found that most other rulers outside the kingdom could declare religious invasion against the Emir of Badajoz but does of the kingdom of Galacia only a holy war) and win it I only get the holding of Badajoz, however to form a kingdom of Portugal I need 2 duke level titles of the Territory and it prevents me like that, and when we go against a Count level pagan/Muslim like you found out, you can't take their main holding, only the baronies associated with that county, but not the county itself.

I myself cannot mod, however I deleted the CB_types text file from the mod and then copy and pasted the vanilla CB_type text file to the mod and I don't know if its done anything wrong but the Religious wars seem to be working once again for me.

Thanks for the quick update.

I noticed that the feast and summer decisions no longer had icons and then I discovered that all those decision events can have cool little icons. I went through and added a bunch of them. This isn't tested but should work.

Alright HERE is 2.9c, it should solve all bugs. Later when I have a bit more time I'll make the facemod modular, remove the age restriction on the new DLC, and fix all the non-priority things.

What is the rationale behind removing the de jure Kingdom CB for the HRE? In what way is it gamebreaking? Mostly I'm wondering because in my game right now I am the Duchess of Toscana, and something a tad bit under half of Italy, maybe. 12 holdings in Italy, or so...

Is it to try to keep Kingdoms within the HRE from expanding to their natural borders?

Good work Id,

I noticed a silly error on my 1.5 Lite which I have now rectified;

Cheers m8 :)

It's to prevent the HRE from taking over all of northern Germany just because, same thing with Byzantium. At some point I'll put it back once I figure out a couple nice conditions that will prevent that from happening, but for now I decided this was for the best.

As far as I know it is in the bottom of the define.lua file

Alright, I'll change it for next version :)

Ah, for a moment I thought it was to stop what I was planning, which I think reasonable, though it will stop it, and that is gaining the title King of Italy, and then slowly incorporating de jure vassals, and maintaining the low or non-existant crown authority which makes it possible (the weakness of the HRE makes such a concentration in the hands of an actually effective King possible, I would say, in the historical sense). Then, of course, eventually rebelling, because why not.

Hmm, I'll have to make a choice on whether to update from b to c, then...it might complicate my strategy, hmm...

Thanks for the information, though.

I suggest you update it, since it fixed more than a bug. It won't prevent you from getting the Italian kingdom, as you still have all the de jure ducal claims and what not. I just felt like it was a bit stupid that as soon as you become king you automatically get a claim on every county who is de jure part of your kingdom, since that's so unhistorical I wanna scream. I mean if you're half a decent player you could become king of Italy and the second after unite all the rest of the kingdom, which isn't really what I want. There are so many ways to do what you wanna do, you could invite claimants, use your de jure ducal claims or fabricate them. That said, for next version I think I'll put it back and limit it to kings only.

Noticed that when an enemy recaptures a territory it is instantly put up to full garrison, working as intended or no?

edit: may only be on this one territory I noticed. So far everything is working fine in regards to war and the CTD's

edit to the edit: Nope did it again. Once the territory is put under siege by my forces the garrison pops up to full from whatever it was at.

Another question.

In CK1, whenever you took Rome every Christian Catholic country basically dogpiled on you to get it back. Basically, bad stuff happened. I know the rationale for that, although historically the HRE invaded rome numerous times, plus the whole Pope-not-in-Rome thing...

Do Christain Monarchs get some form of CB, or opinion penalty, or the like, if you take Rome?

Asking becuase I've just declared war on the Papacy, over their usurpation of my claim to be Duke of Spoletto. Not sure if I'd get Rome if I win (didn't have time, was racing out the door, practically, to commute, and so closed it out after declaring war and saving) but I was just curious what obtaining it does, if anything.

On another note, good points, I will indeed update to C once I am home, and playing again.

Thanks.

Found the mistake, I'll fix it with next version. For anyone who wants to manually change it go to defines.lua and edit the GARRISON_REINFORCE_RATE_MULTIPLIER to something like 0.1

I think I put some negative modifiers but I will create an event/decision at some point to give it back to the papacy, with quite some maluses if you refuse to do so.

Perhaps with some sort of piety and opinion bonus if the ruler giving it back is not the same as the ruler who took it, perhaps? To represent some pious sucessor undoing the ills of his father/predecessor?

Perhaps with some sort of piety and opinion bonus if the ruler giving it back is not the same as the ruler who took it, perhaps? To represent some pious sucessor undoing the ills of his father/predecessor?

Yeah something like that, and a triggered modifier for holding Rome while not being the Pope.

You'd probably be excommunicated, or at least face a chance of it, if you choose the 'don't give it back' option in the event. That, unlike the Pope excommunicating one count on the word of another, is how Excommunications would actually have worked, after all.
