Ok from next version assassinations will cost 325 gold, and you'll need to have 150 prestige and 75 piety, which will be subracted when the assassins are sent.
It`s way too much. BGA has assassination cost 200 and doesn`t have such problems. Could all these deaths be caused by some events firing too often?

By the way, I checked your mod for killing events and event 150226 kills characters but doesn`t add death-trait. :)

I think BGA changed the likeliness of the assassinations to succeed, but I can't work out how to do that, if anyone wants to help that's much appreciated :)

I'll put the death trait in the event in the next update

As a test to see if plots were the main cause of assassinations being too frequent I ran a game without any assassination plot. And people still got assassinated. The only logical conclusion is that your vassals have got way too much money to spare and use it to assassinate your kids (in the hope they would inherit stuff). Therefore the assassination cost will be raised to 500. Have you guys got any other ideas that would help?

I'm assuming those vassals are first spending money on buildings, so why do they have so much money left over? They shouldn't. After buildings and taxes, they should have a little, but certainly not enough to spam assassinations, which leads me to think that the issue is somewhere in why they have that amount of cash on hand.

Real problem is that most vassals don't really improve their holdings much, and well if you're powerful enough it's not hard to gain 20 gold a month which makes it about 1 year until you have the money to kill someone, which is probably what's making the assassination rate higher than it should, even if with 1.3 the problem is smaller than it used to be :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to make a pre existing character show up at your court with an event?

Also how can I make an event happen at a particular gamedate?

I wanna put historical figures into the game and make them show up with province related events, but I still have to figure out those two bits before I start :)

attrition files.

i tested them for about 30 mins, it is deffinately harder to keep a sizeable army now in foreign provinces, especially if disease strike in the province it will wipe our your forces!, you can still keep large forces in your own provinces and you now have to look at the terrain before moving a large force their, there is also a fairly large penalty for putting forces in deserts so crusades will be much harder, test it and tell me if you think its ok or needs to be reduced. I also think it would be good if using static modifiers that trrop numbers were reduced and income was reduced during war; il be happy to add that in if you wish, it would add to realism.

Alright as I wrote I put what you sent me in the mod already, if you wanna change some other stuff go ahead and attach the changes here with a bit of explanation, and I'll add them rightaway :)

Yes, dig around in the vanilla events for Robin Hood and you can see how they do it.
