A vote for Harrison is a vote for the legacy of the only working-class President, ever, Joe Hayden! President Harrison has done well to carry on the legacy of my father in government and to fight on behalf of the people and not the corporations. A Harrison Presidency means continued stability and growth, it means the continuation of the policies which my father implemented in order to bring us back from the brink and bring about stable growth. And this growth is not that championed by the Conservatives of administrations past, but a growth which flows from the labors of the worker to the leisure of the worker. We have achieved growth which is not just good for federal coffers, or the bottom-lines of big business, but which has fundamentally made better the standard of living of the least among us.
I have consistently supported the ACP all of my life and have served as Vice President. However, I have been offered an opportunity to do one last useful thing with my political career before I retire for good. Therefore, I am casting my vote for Harrison.

Now that that is out of the way, I suggest my fellow Democrats begin drafting a piece of legislation to be voted when Congress next convenes (the next cycle of play). Through the legislature we can make the perfect union we have with the Federals even better.
I suggest the primary article in the piece of legislation be returning to a progressive income tax, with the wealthy paying their fair share, so that we do not irresponsibly eat into the surplus that could do so much good in the form of social reforms.
Perhaps we can phrase this as a reform bill with an accompanying tax to pay for it. That is well within the powers of our Democratic caucus in the legislature; to legislate. I suggest we call this nascent piece of groundbreaking reform legislation the Hayden Bill in honor of our late President Joe.

OOC: Is this the end of the Democrats? I hope not, I was planning to have my next character be a Democrat, but now the party will probably be dissolved or something.
((Why would you think it was the end of the Democrats? The Federals were at a lowest low of support not too long ago because many had joined the Democratic base, and now most of those people are just voting for Harrison as its more or less predestined, we owe BBB that much, and he had the endorsement of the player of Joe Hayden - the first socialist-era Democratic president.))

I also wouldn't be quick to discount either the ACP or the Democrats this round. Harrison is a popular president, but the Federal party's support without him is not overwhelming (although hopefully not as underwhelming as the post-Vallejo period). Democrats are voting Federal because he's good enough and it can strengthen their policies in the nation, but there's still room for the three way split in politics afterward (ACP-Federal-Democrat or the like). The Federals can't satisfy all Democrats all the time. Alicia Vallejo will still be a Democratic leaning character, depending on the policies of the candidates of course, next election.))
