((Damn you and your constant posting! How am I to keep up with that!?))
You claim you speak to them as they are people, yet you treat them as mules. You claim you are not a supremacist, yet only Negro slaves are bought and sold. You claim you cannot stand the cruelties, yet you only propose "limitations"? Down with your lies!

I kept forgetting that there wasn't originally MEANT to be 3 parties, that the SNP's introduction unbalanced things and that you (BBB) favored the rebalancing out of circumstances by consolidating the remaining Democrats with the Whigs, despite friction.

Funny that out of a moderately pro-slavery Democratic party and a strongly abolitionist Whig party, one poster's rogue creation of a party for their specific views is forcing everyone else to mute their positions and glom together in order to maintain a symmetry that they didn't violate in the first place.

Not to be controversial, but considering Projekt didn't even ask first, is it really fair to prevent an abolitionist from running in the presidential election? If Caesar and King decided to merge support and put up King, they'd have a shot - and it just seems unfair that a fantasy slaveocratic party with a cool militia and all sorts of other stuff without your permission were allowed after the fact, but everyone else is being preemptively forced into one party to maintain the two party system.

If anyone has learned anything from this, it would be that they shouldn't ask for permission and should instead just do whatever they want and ask you for forgiveness later, as Projekt did; which is not something I think anyone wants, especiall you, for your AAR.

It just seems kind of crazy that Projekt got to have his way while Omega's presidential agenda was changed after the fact and what was supposed to be a voluntary national union is becoming compulsory.

It just seems kind of crazy that Projekt got to have his way while Omega's presidential agenda was changed after the fact and what was supposed to be a voluntary national union is becoming compulsory.

The SNP did come about "illegally", but it fit the story, and seemed to gain a lot of support. If it had been just Projekt, the SNP would never have made it to election. After the SNP formation, it is indeed compulsory to have your possible party approved by me before you can promote it in-thread.

The National Union, or Union, Party is happening because the vote is overwhelmingly in favor. Call me a dictator, but I did what I believed was best for the story, AAR, and majority of readers by putting up the possibility of a temporary merge. I was in fact very lenient when I gave you the chance to vote on the merger.

As for Omega's policies being changed, if you are referring to the China/Liberia mess; that was a mistake, which I take full responsibility for. If you are referring to the fact that King's abolition did not go through; it was a choice of Mary Sue effect on every president by having their policies breeze through, or doing what was best for the AAR.

((I Apologize for breaking the rules, to be honest I just skimmed over them. But how are we going to maintain the two party system later in the game when new movemnts arise like socialism and fascism? I don't know if anyone would object to a King-Vinograd Ticket. I know that its the princpile of me founding a party and then using its rapid growth to force BBB to accept it while asking forgiveness that is objected to and I'm sorry for it but at this point the party leaving the game would destabilize the politics of this thread so much that who knows what would happen. I think as the thread goes on BBB will have to allow for more than 2 or three parties but no more than 1 for every in game political ideology (Democrats=Consevative / Whigs=Liberal / SNP = Reactionary / Potential Cesar+King Ticket = Anarcho-Liberal)))

((I'm running with King? Cool, I'm down. But on a serious note, I totally agree with Projekt that the two party system simply will not work within this AAR. It would just be flat out boring. And yes, nobody should start creating parties simply because they feel like it, but if things are leaning a certain way, then why not? The SNP was created at pretty much the perfect time for their movement, and should me and king(Still not sure how this came about, but I'm not rejecting it in any way) run on a ticket, I'm sure no one would object to us creating a more radical party ourselves.))

There will be multiple parties, but I may even have to kill American Fascism and Socialism for the most part, as these movements never really caught on in America.

Fascism: Come on. That's a fringe party. I don't want a party for every possible ideology clogging up the elections.

Socialism: Well, there's going to be a Civil War. That's for sure, and I believe in this: “Though the United States unionized, the workers never accepted socialism's appeal to revolution by force of arms. The American worker… had no desire to form industrial armies, having in his hundreds of thousands already formed and served in real armies and learnt by his experience that armies brought hardship and suffering. American socialism was stillborn on the battlefields of Shiloh and Gettysburg.” (A slightly modified version of the last phrases of John Keegan's The American Civil War).

Clogging up the elections: Too many options, votes thrown about everywhere.Messy, to say it in short.

Socialism: I'm not denying you Socialism, I'm saying you'll have to run on a Unions and Workers' Rights platform (or start a party like that with my permission), not one of revolution. I should have said American Communism is, or will be, dead.

Well the Red Scares are pretty much the only reason why there was no real American socialist/communist movement beyond the 1920s and 30s. So there is no structural reason why America shouldn't have a strong movement in your AAR. :/

Anyway, this AAR keeps getting lots of posts and I'm not keeping up well. :(

Can someone tell me how the National Coalition ticket is looking? I've noticed several people voting for me in the primaries  how is my position looking?

perhaps congress should take a recess until the update for 1850 comes? It makes sense seeing as we have been arguing over details of 5 years ago and not the present situation.
edit: when the civil war comes around a Republican Abolitionist party should appear.

1.((When is the update going to come now that its after 7pm GMT?))
2.((How would BBB deal with splinter radical whigs?))

Okay. No new votes really, so polls are closed for the primary.

The Whigs and Democrats will merge to become the Union Party (Also known as National Union).
The Presidential Candidate will be John F. Cameron.
The Vice Presidential Candidate will be Thomas McAttack.

Mrs Cameron and McAttack will be given time to discuss (via PM) their ticket's policies for the election, as it is a coalition party.

Once they are done. They will send those policies to me. (Don't include research this time. I've decided research will act as dictated by the Winds of Fate, AKA me).

Mrs Davis and Hensdale, once you have made a filnal decision about your ticket's policies. Send them to me in the form of a manifesto like those in the Presidential Election update for 1837.

((were still in the 1840 -1841 election so considering your 110 years in the future can't you tell us what happens next?)):D
