But there are some quite important events just before the start of the war...
It's already been worked out and the US OOB already done with carriers and troops in the gulf. Think of it like Italy's war with Ethiopia in regular HoI.
So the game will start on March 20th with the DOW? Or March 18th with the ultimatum? Or March 1st? I need to know the exact date. Many events for the CTF are in February 2003 and early March...Lunar said:

I think that the EU should be able to give China various technologies and a chance for an alliance if the U.S. attacks China or whatnot. Considering that the EU is not in good terms with the U.S. Especially France. Also, shouldn't there be an "Iraqi Prisoner Abuse Scandal" in the Middle East that will fuel up dissent and anti-Americanism in that region along with general discontent by the rest of the U.N. or the world on American foreign policy that will shift many of those in America's sphere of influence away from the U.S.

I got an idea for Russia.
In the year 2006 a Russian team in eastern siberia finds an enounroums amount of oil and gold.
The economi improves enorumsly China also wants this resourus and if Russia aint in an alliance with them the DOW.
So what do you think.

1.)The Russians could find oil in Mongolia while working with the government. China wants in, but Russia refuses.
China has two choices: A.) Never mind (small dissent hit) B.) Send Ultimatum to Russia (no effect on China).
Russia will then have two choices: A.) Back Down- Let China have the oil (dissent hit, oil lost) B.) Just Try Us! (Oil increase, small dissent hit)

If the Russians refuse, China sends a small squadron of ships out to the drilling site, giving the Russians 48 hours to leave. After the waiting period, Chinese ships open fire on the drilling site, killing Russians and destroying valuable equipment.
Russia is given three choices: A.) Solve the Problem Diplomatically (sizable dissent hit, oil is given up) B.) Ignore It (massive dissent hit) C.) Rodina Outraged- China Will Taste Our Might! (Small dissent hit, war with China).
How does that sound?

You do? Doesn't he smell like apples?
I was thinking along the same lines: if the Russian goverment gives in, the military may try to coup the government in order to restore honor to Russia. If Russia does go to war, then the Communist Party could begin a movement in a time when the government and military are stretched thin.
I hearded that he Russian econimc growth is olny execeded by China so the image of Russia being in total econmic chaos is not true.

Whether or not Russia has large economic growth, it's still a nation with many divisions and not enough to support everyone. Business is also run by some corrupt people and groups, including the Russian Mafia, hence why very little actually ends up going back to the people. THAT is the root of the economic woes.
Anyway, where did you get this information from?
The second part is probably due to three factors: Caspian Sea, money, and OPEC. Sometimes Saudi Arabia doesn't produce all the oil it's capable of because it wants to keep prices high (Supply&Demand). The Russians, who drill in the Caspian Sea (one of the reasons they're so hell bent on keeping Chechnya), probably produce as much oil as possible because they need the money and also consume a lot of oil themselves.
I got the information from a Swedish news program and they are very rilable.
Oil taxes have been raised so now the goverment ears more money then it spends.
The same program also said that the Russian economy is one of the strongest in thw whole World

Okay, now while it may be one of the strongest, it's not the stablest, which is the point I'm trying to make and the MDS creators are trying to use.
I can also bet you that Russia is still in massive debt, which could cause economic troubles.

What i have heard about those debts (not so sure about this one) is that the debt was nullifed.
And by the way Russia has nullfied Iraqs debts to Russia witch i find strange, when Russia needs that money perhaps they know that they never will get it back
