this scenario is an excellent idea, although I like ww2, I always prefer the modern day!!!

Ofcourse I have some ideas of my own that I want to share with the developers. The plot line seems to me a very hard nut to crack, given the recent discussions in this thread. Why don't you use a more established plot line as a beginning for the mds?

for example the novel Cauldron written by Larry Bond.

'Synopsis
With the world's old alliances and economic order shattered by a ruinous trade war, France and Germany seize the chance to build a new European order. Poland and the Czech Republic stand in their way, and when America and Britain join them, northern Europe explodes into war'

Sounds good, doesn't it?

the Larry Bond plot could be a fine starting point for the ideas already mentioned in the thread, in wich Russia would be the wild card and China could start a fight for the siberian oil fields.

Already suggested using a different plot (Nastradamus's predictions are very cool for this) but they have worked a lot to get it were it is. So might as well just help with what they started because (understandably) they do not want to go back.

It's not a bad plot, but once it starts getting fleshed out I believe it would start becoming less realistic than the one we have now. And like HeliumHound said, backtracking is not desirable.

The most useful suggestions would be modifications or additions to our current plot.

Oke, I understand, anyway I like the Main Plot aswell.

Another idea/question:

Are you going to make the main plot (besides the dynamic timeframe) dynamic or static? For example, could Russia join the Chinese alliance (point 56) just before the chinese attack taiwain (point 38)?

I prefer the dynamic version with a static enforcement when the scenario doesn't envolops quickly enough.

Personally, I would like to have one grand campaign that is vERY dynamic, but solidly stabilized by static occurrence.

Maybe you could lower the probability for joining the CotW by demanding Russia to atleast make two unhistorical choices.

Maybe we could add some random events there Russia could choose to improve relations with China, improve relations with CTF or improve relations with the CotW.

Maybe you could add it as extra hard option?
Like with this option it is a very high chance that they will succed, with this the chance is lower. Off course if you play as China it would be a very easy option.

Anyway to include them in someway is very interesting. The most fun would be to make it a 50% chance for them to succeed. Then if China manages to turn both Russia and India on their side they have a very good chance to win.

Anyway how do you think the ME would react if India with support from China invades Pakistan?

Hi everybody. Just a few ideas for plot/gameplay stuff I have been thinking of:

1. NATO should permit all current alliance members to move freely through eachothers territory. After the U.S. DOW on Syria the European members of the alliance (with the exception of Britain, Spain, Polland, and the most recent eastern European signitories of the treaty) should more or less be forced to choose between outright abandoning the alliance (putting on the "fast track" the future establishment of the CTF), diminished role in the alliance (revoke freedom of movement, severely sour relations between CotW and France, Germany, Belgium, etc.) or to stand by the CotW actions at the expense of MASSIVE civil unrest and possible election/removal issues in certain countries (very politically unpopular, could ultimately usher in a much more hostile set of anti-US regimes operating under the CTF banner down the road).

2. The United Nations should play a limited role in event issues. Example: CotW DOW on Syria causes an emergancy meeting of the security council. The human player can choose to support a UN resolution condeming the CotW action as a violation of the UN charter (very harsh diplomatic language, creates event trigger for the establishment of the CTF officially), Press for sanctions against all CotW nations (resource penalty against US, UK, Poland, etc, and the establishment of CTF), or to permit/support the CotW actions (national movement toward CotW allignment is drastically increased at the price of substantial increase in disent within your nation). The text could read something like "Historicaly, the UN General Assembly and Security Council voted to condemn the CotW's actions as a violation of the principles of the United Nations... but how should history remember the events of this day?", and then give the player the options along with a scroll over list of the effects of each action.

3. I have heard that their are issues with the ability to support so many nations within the HOI framework. Perhaps for certain regions (ie. western Africa) the nations could be lumped together to form the "Non-Alligned" Movement. The NAM would, as the name implies, be very neutral and would literaly have to be draged into any conflict between the CTF, CotW, and Beligerants. They would be far more concerned about internal strife, civil wars, and basic economic survival than with the flucuations of the global scene.

Let me know what you guys think of this. Thanks.
