Hello! This is my first AAR, so don't expect it to be great. I am playing as Cornwall, in the year 1453. I had to modify the province history files so that I could play as Cornwall. I also released all the other countries in the British Isles. Namely: Lancaster, York, Northumberland, and Wales, along with Cornwall. I am playing on Normal Difficulty, but with low AI aggression. We want this AAR to last, after all!
The Chapters of this AAR will be split into decades, and each chapter will be split into Parts, each 5 years long, in this case three years starting with 1453. I have already completed this decade, so I can post that now. I plan to turn Cornwall into a mighty trading nation and colonial power. Nothing will stop me, not even England. I took alot of screenshots for this first decade, I mean alot!
CHAPTER 1, PART I: BEGINNINGS
May 30, 1453 - December 31, 1456
In 1453, Cornwall is in a slowly increasing state of decay. After finally gaining independence from Mother England, Cornwall is at a loss as to how to become a stronger nation, and eventually, a world power.
Surrounded by water on three sides, and England on the other, Cornwall doesn't have much going for it. Their only hope is to expand their borders. And that means colonialism. Cornwall's road to Colonisation is a long way off, but nothing is stopping this small nation from achieving great things.
Helping to push the country to greatness were two of the greatest scholars in Cornwall. Only two. A third one had not yet been found in Cornwall, and borrowing from England was no option.
One, Piero, was an Italian who moved to Cornwall because of High taxes in Friuli.
The other, Jowan Clemow, was a native of Cornwall, and was art professor at the local university until he was summoned by the king to be one of his advisors. Since then, he has faithfully been assisting with the progress of Cornwall.
As of Saturday, May 30, 1453, Cornwall is in a poor economic situation. Because it is small, there is not much production. This means little taxation, and in turn, this means little income. However, Cornwall's first goal is to achieve a National Idea. This means Government Technology 1. As of now, all of Cornwall's money is invested in Government Technology.
Cornwall's Economic Situation
Cornwall has a small army, which is not sufficient if it wishes to outlive England. But for now, a local General, Pasco Endean, was assigned to the Cornish army, soon to be known as the Cornish Expansion Force.
