I know you guys are Paradox don't like me to have nice things for very long, so when I saw my brother had 18 strength at age 14 I knew he was going to have a rough, short, life. However, I think its a bit overboard when he contracts the flu and the physician botches the treatment and makes him an eunuch. It's not like my physician is an idiot. He has a learning score of 21 and has successfully treated multiple illnesses in multiple characters in my kingdom, including the flu! He is Jewish....maybe he got confused and performed a circumcision that went wrong?

It's this kind of stuff that makes me shake my head...

Kind of like how I spent three hours trying to fully unite Ireland yesterday only to die one county away and then having my new characters wife kill him a week later by literally jumping on his penis and I guess breaking it, causing what land I had united to fracture into 4 pieces.

If people think medieval doctors success was anything other than sheer balls to the wall luck are gonna be disappointed. The best medical care you're getting in this era is in an Islamic medical book and even that is pretty harmful compared to actual medicine.

It's random with better chances because even Henry VIII's chief surgeon didn't have a clue what he was doing beyond viewing of the stool. Haha. And that's centuries after this games time span.

One of the devs even stated this in another thread - if the illness is minor or weak then DO NOT try the experimental cure as it tends to either work very well or fail spectacularly (some would say this is "experimental"). OTOH if your character is 68 years old and has just contracted the plague then go for it - lose your nuts if it will save your life.

AI needs to be more reluctant to tell their physician to "experiment". In fact, AI should never ask doctors to perform experimental procedure, unless they have life-threatening plague.
