Yesterday's beta patch fixed a lot of bugs, and that's nice, but one serious bug persists (new Leaders not having any Skills), and its presence makes me disinclined to play Stellaris "for real".

Instead, I play in a pseudo explotory style, exploring the new game mechancis and Techs, using constant console commands to create stored Science, and to gift myself with as many resources as I need, without taking the game seriously.

It also means I play a lot less than I'd otherwise do. An hour and a half on average, at most, per day, instead of something like 4-5 hours on average.

This has gone on now for 9 days, and since it's a Saturday today, it's extremely unlikely that there'll be another bugfix patch until Monday, so at least 2 more days, possibly 3 or 4, for a total of 11+.

I want to start playing, but that one particular bug has been a painful Blocker for - now - 9 days!

I think this bug is just for existing empires. As in, if you delete your empire and recreate it, it'll be fixed. I haven't tested extensively, but I DO know that a Random Empire will have leaders start with traits.

Factually incorrect. I deleted all my empires onThursday 6/dec, and only play with newly created ones. The bug is still there.

I've been using observer mode to watch the AI and I have no idea how management at paradox thought this game was remotely ready. A big reason they expand so slowly and fall behind in technology is tha tthey seem to be unable to have more than 4 or so researchers active at a time. So if they have 3 active science ships they'll leave 2 research slots empty. If they have all 3 research slots active, they'll only have 1 science ship on the go. They also seem to shuffle these leaders around a lot making sure that system they were surveying takes 20 years to survey. A lack of traits is such a tiny fish in this sea of bugs.
